So if you knew a boxer was committing terrible crimes you would root for him just because he's talented?

I know Ali was hated by many, but he stood up against racism and he also realized what he did was wrong later in life. Floyd constantly talks about money and how he is the greatest of all time.

Floyd also shouldn't complain when he is negatively portrayed if he is just acting as he is giving that impression to people purposefully.

I understand that Floyd is likely the way he is largely due to the issues he had with his father, but hopefully he will have a change of heart later in life.
It isn't terrible probably but still not something that a so called role model should do or??? Mayweather doesn't do drugs or alcohol at least...

Like you said - Ali has accepted it LATER - to call someone UNCLE TOM is a pretty racistic comment and if you ask Joe Frazier to this day - he still hasn't forgive Ali for it... Ali had his share of really bad, bad moments... that doesn't make Floyd's comment any better... but still... you have to take a fair way then dude... either you accept some things as promotion... or you lay every word on the line... you can't say Ali apologised later and that's it... Floyd ain't had his later yet...

He ain't complains about it... you just asked for my opinion... I tell you what it is... as Floyd was nice and smiling and shaking hands and being a gentleman do you know how much money he made??? Do you know how many big fights he got??? Basically zero... as soon as he started to act up he became famous and rich... Floyd just gives you want you want - you ain't wanted him smiling and being hero... that is de la Hoya... you wanted him badmouthing ppl... you buy his PPV's all of the sudden... the arenas are filled... he is just what the ppl wanted IMO - he just gives them someone to hate...

Floyd CAN be chill, funny, and cool at times, and that floyd doesn't seem to be a bad guy. . . he gives back to the community, and seems to be a good dude. . . but when he gets all defensive, brash, and racial - i don't care for. . . and if he really has beat on females like he's been accused of - then i can't say i approve. . . of course i don't know him personally, but a way a man carries himself in situations, can say a lot about who he is. . . so from a boxing fan standpoint (outside of the ring) - no, im not a huge fan of him. . .

anyone with a brain can read him him between the lines. if you cant, you are probably just like him. hes one of the best, and probably the best technically (in his own style/way) in the ring, but outside its the complete opposite. his antics are entertaining, to a point, but then you realize that he is actually like this IRL then you start to feel bad for him. if you actually think he's a good-hearted person the you are probably a person that already has a lot of haters but you have no idea why. re-evaluate your life.

When there is no one around to be a role model, they look at the tv screen searching for one.

I don't go actively searching for articles about Floyd's faults, but if you pay attention to boxing news and sports news in general you know what I'm talking about.

All I'm saying is that why root for the talented guy who at the very least comes off as an a**hole when there are other talented guys who are humble and don't go around burning cash, throwing around gay slurs, or making racist comments about potential opponents.

Floyd is a great talent, but I hope another talented fighter beats him.
