dont buy the hype man. that's all bogus.Well, there are the allegations that he threatened his kids, so we'll see how it turns out. Also, if you have six lawsuits against you you are probably doing something wrong. Not saying he is guilty, but he is at least surrounding himself with some bad people it would seem.Comment

Don't know Floyd the person, but I don't like the way he portrays himself. It seems to give the sport a lot of attention though, so I don't have a problem with it. I don't watch 24/7 anymore and I usually don't watch press conferences, so I rarely see how Floyd acts these days.Comment

When I was growing up my parents should have hundreds of those allegations and im sure im not the only one lmao.Well, there are the allegations that he threatened his kids, so we'll see how it turns out. I'm probably the last person to stick up for Floyd, but you have to remember that most of the time we see him (on tv, at press conferences, interviews etc) he is being a Floyd-the-promoter, and he's hyping his fight in the way he knows best. Being edgy, controversial, arrogant etc. Love or hate him he gets a strong reaction and he gets the media whipped up into a frenzy.
Does anyone know what he's really like as a person? Amir Khan recently said that when you meet Floyd off camera he's really down to earth, humble, easy going and approachable. So who knows? We only get to know Floyd through the media.
And finally, if he's a great boxer (which he truly is) does his personality even matter? Carlos Monzon is one my all time favourite boxers and yet he was an asshole (he pushed his wife off a balcony and had numerous arrests for beating his wives/girlfriends). How about Tyson? Or Valero? Or hundreds of other sports stars that have questionable characters? Does it stop us appreciating their talent?Comment

Doing ******* isn't necessarily a terrible thing to do so long as you aren't hurting others. I realize what you are saying, but Floyd seems to always emphasize his negative qualities and talk down to potential opponents like Pacquiao (in racist ways to boot). I know Ali was hated by many, but he stood up against racism and he also realized what he did was wrong later in life. Floyd constantly talks about money and how he is the greatest of all time.He actually does a lot of good things outside of the ring... but he doesn't talk much about it and it doesn't get covered as much by the media...
We all have our faults who am I to judge... I'm not perfect and I don't expect Mayweather to be perfect... but it's a long list... I mean it doesn't matter who it is: Ali was a womanizer and was unfaithful... Sugar Ray Robinson beat up his own wife... Sugar Ray Leonard was unfaithful and did ******* as much as I know... De La Hoya just recently camed out - Calzaghe, Hatton did ******* too... the list goes on and on... even Manny as I heard was unfaithful to his wife... so I mean as good as everyone has something in their closet...
Floyd is not a bad person... he is just seen extreme and he gives himself many times really extreme - because it sells... but he isn't a bad person as far as I know and heard of him...
Floyd also shouldn't complain when he is negatively portrayed if he is just acting as he is giving that impression to people purposefully.
I understand that Floyd is likely the way he is largely due to the issues he had with his father, but hopefully he will have a change of heart later in life.Comment

You can appreciate someone's talent without rooting for them though. I was mainly talking about what others call "*****s" (the use of this term and "*******" irritates the heck out of me).I'm probably the last person to stick up for Floyd, but you have to remember that most of the time we see him (on tv, at press conferences, interviews etc) he is being a Floyd-the-promoter, and he's hyping his fight in the way he knows best.
