Could Cortez please not work any more fights. The outcome of this fight would not been the same had Bayless been the ref. Fair but firm needs to find a vocation that does not demand his full attention. His performance as a ref reminds me of pro wrestling when the referee is knocked unconscious and suddenly comes to to count out the good guy. Enough is enough

Thanks for the fellas showing the vid of the 4rth round, even more evidence that Cortez put his hands together saying fight, doesn't matter if he was talkin to the judges after , he signaled fight! hes not the one fighting! than Floyd basically returned the favor using his experience in the ring! Point Blank! FLoyd won the fight fair and square! Sure boxing fans didnt want to see a fight of this magnitude end this way, but that is why its Boxing...anything can happen at any moment..

Way to give the fans their moneys worth, by sucker punching the guy. that low down dirty dog. Belongs in the sewers away from civilized people.

Any way you slice it it did look like sucker punch.
So, you can talk semantics but it looks like a sucker punch/combo and for all intents and purposes it IS a sucker punch. One guy wasn't looking and the other whacked him = sucker punch.
Ortiz could have been thrown out for the headbutt though.
Disappointing end, especially to a Mayweather fight. He gets less slack than most fighters for stuff like this because he fights once every year-and-a-half.

Gesturing the fighters together does not indicate the action is to resume, it indicates the fighters are suppose to come together, which is what Ortiz did.
Either way, it was disgusting. The first hook, okay. You got even, I can understand that. Foul for foul, but then you took it up a notch, saw that Ortiz was unaware of your intention to resume the action, and uncorked a right hand on a man who was not only unprepared, but not even looking at you.
That is not only disgusting, but dangerous.
Kudos to you for caring so much about class, and the general well-being of a fighter.
Dip ****.
