Are you a physician? I dont know any physician alive whod say its healthy for this eye to get wailed on for another 22 punches.

Its the physicians job to stop the bout BEFORE any severe damage occurs not during or after the fact. Vitali had 4 rounds to to turn the tide but he was getting hit more, not less.

He had an EYEBROW gash, which was not nearly as serious for vision as, say, a deep cut across an eyelid. It was hardly swollen even. His vision was NOT IMPAIRED in the slightest. The dr. had NO legitimate reason for stopping the fight, although, through incompetence, or inexperience, he may have thought he had.

It was not an EYE injury, it was an EYEBROW injury, and even the commentators remarked that it was completely under control and had not even bled (which in itself is just a natural expectation of the sport). Because it was across the FLESHY part of the eyebrow, it was deeper, and indeed looked much worse than it was. It still wasn't even close to the bone, like many cuts are. Especially with CLOSE-UP camera showing the trembling hands of Joe De Souza messing around with it in exactly the wrong direction, and using the WRONG hand. It was completely healed and INVISIBLE to camera 10 days after the fight. VK made a SPECIAL visit to the studios so that he could show everyone that it wasn't even visible, in fact wasn't serious, and that the fight should NOT have been stopped. It is those close-ups which have fuelled the huge controversy.

lol it's funny how you can co-sign a guy who *****ed out. . . the only thing legitimate about that fight is lennox was FORCED into retirement because he knew he was losing the fight, and got lucky vitali's eye was cut up and the REF stopped the fight. . .

tell me when in history a fighter was LOSING CLEARLY on all scorecards, and won by cuts, AND DID NOT grant a rematch? Even in the 2 pictures you show above, if you LOOK, you can SEE that there's nothing wrong with his eye, nor, when the blood is wiped away, is there anything even close. His eye and his vision are perfect. Blood is a natural result of a cut, and in itself is not harmful. Otherwise fights would be stopped every time someone's nose bleeds.

THAT'S why he always considered he'd been robbed, and why I have the same opinion.

No I'm not a physician but I come from a medical and legal family, and was in Medical School until "half" when I was a kid, in fact I was too young. Many of my friends and close relatives were also doctors. My first cousin, with whom I grew up, and studied with, was a ring doctor. Three uncles also. Besides I boxed myself for years, and was medically checked over probably more in 1 year than you'll be in your lifetime.

I go by what I hear, read, (and where it comes from) and WHAT I SEE.
