He came in at his heaviest and did not train properly for the fight, you use the quotes from the hbo team to back you argument but they also said several times lewis is gassed and out of shape, they said it before, during and after he did not train properly

Vitali, judging from the fight was not in his skill prime either, he was in his physical prime but he was throwing lots of punches each around and landing at only around 30 percent while lewis was landing at 40-50 percent of his shots throwing less

A prime lewis would have knocked wlad out, he would have won a UD easily over vitali as he was far more skilled

Even Lewis, with all his excuses, never said he wasn't trained properly. He DID say that he put on a little extra weight because Klitschko was a big man. He also held up the promoters for an extra $4 mill to fight Klitschko.

PUG Don't let words run away with you. The gash (not a cut) was across Klitschko's left EYEBROW. Nowhere near his eye, and did not affect his vision even a tiny amount. And it hadn't been bleeding or otherwise affected since rd 4. The dr. made a mistake in stopping the fight. The official reason at first, was that "I asked him to look up, and he couldn't. I concluded that the nerves governing the EYELID had b een severed, so that his eyelid wouldn't raise, so that he was actually BLIND in ONE EYE.......".

We found that this was NOT TRUE. If you recall-and you can see the pictures) that when Klitschko heard that the fight had been stopped because he "couldn't see", he kept roaring " I can see, I can see, I can see very well"......... And BOTH his eyes were glaring WIDE OPEN.

The dr. gave a couple of other excuses afterwards but it has been downplayed since. I believe that with the dr's navel pressed up against Klitschko's face, and all the roaring and shouting going on in 3-4 languages, and the crowd roaring, n Klitschko couldn't obey the dr anyway. Klitschko likely didn't even hear the dr. He was too busy doing other things. Also he hardly understood a word of English at the time, so either didn't know who the dr. was, or didn't uderstand him. Apart from his eyebrow, which wasn't causing a problem, and a bruise under the eye, and a couple of small "paper-cuts (when the blood was wiped away) he was in vey good shape in a fighting sense.

The amount of excuses made for Vitali in the Lewis fight is shocking. Ive heard the following...

-The cut was caused by a backhand
-The cut was caused by a headbutt
-The cut was caused by Lewis' hair(guess his hair has razorblades)
-The cut was caused by the inside of Lewis' glove
Maybe Lewis' head is located on the back of his fist, and his headbutt razorblade hair sliced open Vitali's face? I dont know.


oh and I state this all the ****ing time but Vitali was in training to fight Cedric Boswell on the undercard of Lewis-Kirk Johnson. If he took the fight on 'short notice', so did Lewis.

Haha, about the same level? Ok, maybe a fat past prime Lewis vs a younger version of the monster we call Vitali might be at the same level but a Prime Lewis is leaps and bounds ahead of any version of Vitali.

The only 'FACTS' anyone needs are Lewis TKO rd6 over Vitali, no luck involved. Its not as if Vitali slipped and smashed his face to pieces on his stool on the way back to his corner is it. His face was destroyed by Lennox Lewis punching him lots and lots and lots.

You sound delirious. The FACT is that neither Klitschko nor Lewis used much skill in this fight. They were bashing away from the beginning. Klitschko began it. That EYEBROW gash, WHICH WAS NOT THE REASON THE FIGHT WAS STOPPED, hasn't been repeated in any other fight I've seen........

They threw skill overboard. Lewis of course had no option, and when Steward saw how it would be he urged Lewis to get close and do the same thing. A battle of attrition. You can hear Steward in the corner urging Lewis to keep putting pressure on........

Lennox Lewis already beat Vitali so that is already proven. Had his faced busted up to the point that they had to stop the fight. I'm for sure Lennox would have smashed Wladamir as well. Lennox was beating Heavyweights when the division was way more competitive. What Floyd said is not obsurd.

What gift.. he was the Wbc #1 mandatory challenger. Lewis would've had to fight him eventually or get stripped...oh wait... my bad didn't that eventually happen later anyways.. forgive my discretion.

When Klitschko and Johnson fought on Dec 6th 2003, this was the same night on which was to have taken place the Klitschko-Lewis return which Lewis had been dodging. One dodge was, I'll only rip open his eye again, earlier this time and MY fans won't get a good fight out of it. So i want him to go too London and be examined by MY specialist, to make sure his eye woill be ablw to stand it. This was just ONE excuse Lewis used. And Klitschko actually went to Lomdon. Klitschko also appeared on TV 10 days after the fight with his EYEBROW cut completely healed with no visible scar even. s he said, he came on TV to show that the cut wasn't such a big thing, and the fight shouldn't have been stopped.

Anyway, the WBC made Klitschko the #1 mandatory, and Lewis had to make the fight happen within 90 days of BE STRIPPED. Just a DAY before the time was up, he retired, after having held up te title for nearly a year after their fight.

I never had any regard for Lewis as a sportsman, just an opportunist. Sportsmen don't do these things, nor do they grab an opponent around the neck and pull him into an uppercut, one of Lewis's favourite tricks.
