Yes Vitali fought a great fight up to that point, and yes he was up on the cards but it was hardly a landslide, it was a close fight 4-2 up to the 6th. At the end of the 6th if you actually watch the fight, Vitali ends the round badly staggered and really holding on to Lewis, and for the record both fighters were struggling a little physically. It was a fast pace for a heavyweight fight, but everyone had seen Lennox in tough fights before, we know he can pull it out, so I don't know why so many assumed Vitali had the beating of him if it had carried on.

Both guys took this fight at short notice so credit to both, but I truly think Lennox underestimated Vitali in that sense, because most champions would not fight such a formidable challenger on that short preparation. Another thing to consider also, is the fact that Lewis hadn't fought in a year, for someone that had watched most of his career I could definitely see ring rust there, and also his mindset you could feel from the way he talked was that Tyson was really the icing on the cake for his career, the way he was talking in the build up to the Johnson/Klistchko fight was that he was finally content with what he had accomplished, and you could sense he had lost his hunger.

Klitschko put up a great argument, and has probably developed a more mythic status with a loss, like many fighters before him. But anyone that thinks that Either brother is better or would beat Lewis are ****ing dreaming, deluded, or probably a bit of both.
    Co-sign that ****......have some green.

Floyd has been talking strange stuff lately, so as a Klit fan, I'm not taking it too seriously.

Also, bring those Lennox Lewises! Where are they hiding? Obviously nowhere, the Klits have smashed every opposition, sooner or later.

            Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis

            THE TRUTH

Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis barely survived the 2nd round, he was badly hurt, holding on for dear life, wobbling everywhere and staggering around the ring like a drunk. Lewis was badly hurt several times in the fight and was getting outboxed, outworked, outmuscled and outlanded by Vitali.

            punches landed

            Vitali 156

            Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.

After the fight, Vitali intimidated the shit out of Lewis and made him look like a bitch.

All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis after the fight.

            Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.

Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared his bitch ass into retirement.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"

Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"

Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.

Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.

Lewis wasn't "over the hill" when he got his ass whooped by Vitali.

Lewis was coming off the KO win over Tyson. In the Lewis-Tyson post fight interview Lewis stated "I'm like fine wine, I get better with age"

In an interview right before the Vitali fight, Lewis said "I'm at the peak of my powers, I will keep fighting for many more years"

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement. That's a FACT.

                  Stop being thick

                  that was a year after

He came in at his heaviest and did not train properly for the fight, you use the quotes from the hbo team to back you argument but they also said several times lewis is gassed and out of shape, they said it before, during and after he did not train properly

Vitali, judging from the fight was not in his skill prime either, he was in his physical prime but he was throwing lots of punches each around and landing at only around 30 percent while lewis was landing at 40-50 percent of his shots throwing less

A prime lewis would have knocked wlad out, he would have won a UD easily over vitali as he was far more skilled

Mayweather made Hatton come up to 147 to fight him he refused to fight at 140 so talking about sizes is very hypocritical of him really.

Also Wasn't Vitali winning before a technical stoppage due to a cut?

The rest be it Lewis' age, shape etc is all if's and but's.

Exactly, he knew he was past his prime, he had a choice to make, keep fighting and let someone who would not have beaten him a few years ago take his belts or just leave the game on a high

                      he made the right choice
