Some people are writing Berto off because he lost to a guy he was heavily favored to beat!! Even before the Ortiz fight, Berto hasn't proven himself.

So he deserves criticism.

Berto losing his WBC title but has an opportunity to win the IBF title. Why should he be down about losing to Ortiz in one of the best fights this year? These young cats are so obsessed with not losing that one loss affects them in a way where it is next to unbelievable that they lost. If Berto can win this belt tonight then he puts himself back in the equation. Forget about the past and just do what you need to do to stay on top in the game.

Berto needs to grow up -- no one is 'written off' based on 1 loss to a top level guy -- hyped fighters get written off if they consistently lose big fights over time -- Berto needs to get in there with real guys -- not 35 year old European title holders who most bxing fans have never seen or even heard of....
