Serious question, is Mayweather taking a big risk of getting severely damaged?

Serious question, is Mayweather at 34 a tad too old for a 24 year old aggresive fighter like Ortiz? Specially after ANOTHER LONG LAYOFF?

Do you think it will finally take a toll on him.. specialy when he's made such a risky and bold move in facing a guy with the speed, power and relentlessness of a Victor Ortiz?

    Discuss?

If you want to be great you got to take risks. Was Hopkins too old at 46 taking on a 28 year old? Not if he wanted to achieve greatness.

As for the long layoffs, that all depends on floyd and what kind of shape he's been in. From what I've been reading (reading, not seeing), is that he looks phenomenal in camp. So I personally don't think it will be a problem for him, being that he's such a technically sound fighter.

Excellent picture. Great representaton of the human body.

And yes you're right. Mayweather is at HUGE risk.

So naturally you will give him full credit IF he wins (Which obviously he won't)

I can think of plenty of fighters that have taken bigger risks,Mayweather doesnt get any extra credit from me for finally facing a live opponent, something he hasnt done for a long time

That is the question Arum, Team Pacquiao, and ******* Nation are anxiously awaiting will be answered on 9-17.

If Floyd looks slow and rusty, and like he appears vulnerable, Manny will text Foyd's team with news that he's finally ready to be poked by a USADA drug tester.

If he looks like he hasn't missed a beat, the delays for drug testing from Team Pacquiao will continue for who knows how much longer.

Mayweather won't have taken this fight unless he genuinely believes he has his opponent's number.

I mean, yeah - if he fights ******ly he is at serious risk of being hurt. But unless he's undergone a complete personality transplant I can't see him making too many mistakes.

My money is on him ruthlessly exposing Ortiz's flaws and picking him apart like a vulture feasting on a dead deer's flesh.

well mayweather chose ortiz for a reason, so let's hope it backfires on him. only person that can determine all this will be ortiz by his performance. let's hope he is mentally tough to take on mayweather when the fight is actually happening.

After how ortiz looked his last time out & the fact that Floyd hasn't fought anyone remotely competitive in years, litterally, I'll say yes the risk is huge.
