Serious question, is Mayweather at 34 a tad too old for a 24 year old aggresive fighter like Ortiz? Specially after ANOTHER LONG LAYOFF?

Do you think it will finally take a toll on him.. specialy when he's made such a risky and bold move in facing a guy with the speed, power and relentlessness of a Victor Ortiz?

If you want to be great you got to take risks. Was Hopkins too old at 46 taking on a 28 year old? Not if he wanted to achieve greatness.

As for the long layoffs, that all depends on floyd and what kind of shape he's been in. From what I've been reading (reading, not seeing), is that he looks phenomenal in camp. So I personally don't think it will be a problem for him, being that he's such a technically sound fighter.

well mayweather chose ortiz for a reason, so let's hope it backfires on him. only person that can determine all this will be ortiz by his performance. let's hope he is mentally tough to take on mayweather when the fight is actually happening.

After how ortiz looked his last time out & the fact that Floyd hasn't fought anyone remotely competitive in years, litterally, I'll say yes the risk is huge.
