    Calzaghe wins

Calzaghe's next best win - Kessler
    Froch's next best win - Dirrell (?)
Ward's next best win - Bika

Calzaghe's next best win - Eubank
Froch's next best win - Taylor
Ward's next best win - Abraham

Froch is getting close, Ward no where near.
Calzaghe and Hopkins fought at light heavyweight, so that should not be included. That makes Kessler his best win, A past it and unmotivated Eubank his second best win, and an exposed Jeff Lacy who never beat an A class fighter during his career as his third best win. Sorry my man, but that is a very thin resume.

lacy isn't even as good as bika, mitchell, brewer, or reid. warren knew the guy was shi-t and had to beg calzaghe just to take the fight because joe was scared of the hype. lacy was a good confidence booster and joe thought he was the greatest of all time after slapping around a one dimensional tomato can so he took on a couple dangerous fights but hopkins beat him back to reality and he retired meekly.

        agreed on this
Joe did good work at the ass end of his career
Froch and Ward done more in the S6 than Joe in many yrs over
but Joe was undisputed, winner of S6 has to top that

What? How is that even possible? Froch already lost to Kessler, the same Kessler who Calzaghe beat. (A better version of Kessler, at that!)

          Plus Calzaghe beat Bernard Hopkins.

What has Froch done that compares to any of that? His best win is over Pascal. (Who Hopkins just beat at the age of 46.)

Calzaghe>Froch no matter how ya' slice it.

Joe wasn't undisputed till the Kessler fight and than moved up. I could be wrong about this, but I think Im right.

with undisputed do you guys mean lineal champ?

If so, i think Calzaghe gained that when he beat lacy. Could be wrong though.

froch-kessler could have gone either way. froch took on 6 tough fights in a row. calzaghe didn't have 6 tough fights in his career. calzaghe didn't beat hopkins so froch beating ward is much better than calzaghe beating kessler or anything he ever did. so how wouldn't he be better? just because he has a loss and because he doesn't have 20 bum title defenses?

In my opinion "undisputed" means unified. I realize Calzaghe never held all the belts at the same time, but as I don't give credit for singular paper titles, I don't take it away because of corrupt orgs who agenda is money and not the sport. This is why cleaning out the best fighters in a division is so important to legacy. It why Wlad will have a top 15 or better all time ranking when he's done. Can't blame a guy for weak comp as long as he beats them all. That said, I believe Joe was the best fighter in the division and the rightful "Ring" champion after beating Lacy.

As far as Calzaghe's title defenses.....I don't put much stock in paper titles that allow a fighter to defend against weak comp the vast majority of his reign.

If Ward wins he still has a little bit more before surpassing Calzaghe. But he's still young and on a far faster track of credible opponents than Calzaghe was fighting for his first 9 years as a titlist. If Andre goes on to beat Froch and then Bute, I think he has easy sailing for the rest of his time at 168 and becomes the divisions all time greatest fighter.

Head to head though, I don't think ANY of them are comparable to a prime Roy Jones. Unfortunately his resume also falls short at 168 in spite of his incredible talent.
That's the truth about Roy. There's never been a better fighter at 168 than Roy was, even in the limited time he was there. Calzaghe has the title right now because of longevity though.
