And without a doubt, the deliberate headbutt in the third round affected Kessler. You can see him blinking after that, trying to clear his vision, like McLennan did after the headbutt in the Benn fight.
Under fair circumstances, without the headbutts and with an honest referee, Kessler would have been fighting much better and would have adjusted to Ward's style and won the fight by clear decision of late KO.

With all that said please explain to me why Kessler didn't make ONE adjustment in that fight? Kessler kept doing the samething over and over again but expecting different results.
Come on man its ok you like Kessler but the **** you saying is just ****ing ridiculous.

But I seem to remember it was much earlier.
I might watch the fight later tonight...

People are making alot of excuses for kessler in this thread.
Ward is a dirty fighter and he did land headbutts later in the fight but to me it was clear Kessler was out of his depth as soon as the fight started.
Ward beat him from range and on the inside. Ward didnt rack up rounds by headbutting kessler,he scored rounds by landing better punches and basically controlling the tempo of every round.
It was a shame that the fight ended because of headbutts but it was clear Kessler was a beaten man before they occurred.

Kessler is too timid. No way Froch will stand for any of that *****. Ward is gonna have to box him. No way hes roughing up Froch.

- Goossen's shady referee Jack Reiss was admonishing Kessler during the fight and in his corner between rounds for nothing, to confuse him and throw him off. Kessler was fighting two men that night - and Reiss permitted Ward to foul as much as he wanted.
(the contract for the Super Six stated NEUTRAL referees would be used, but Goossen's California man Jack Reiss was in there).
- before the fight, there were a lot of head games from the Ward camp, for example Kessler's gloves being questioned, even though they knew there was nothing wrong with them
show me where kessler gets headbutted in the 3rd you moron.......
