Mayweather is in the tail end of his prime, but still not past it IMHO.

Moving up in weight will slow down any fighter.

We can't say what we don't know

Since his 2009 comeback, you can see Floyd's much more solid up top which was a factor in the way he was able to stand in front of and push Shane Mosley back. Even the smaller welterweight version of Floyd was able to fight off Ricky Hatton inside. The difference back then was he did it mainly with his legs and front hip whereas now he can outmuscle seemingly bigger, stronger fighters.

I think today's version of Floyd, while plainly not as fast, would handle 2006-2007 Baldomir and De La Hoya much easier.

So you would say Floyd is in his prime now?

He clearly is not in his physical prime- not as explosive, fluid, fast, and agile. I'm saying he's added strength and has adjusted his fighting style accordingly.

Prime means, the period of time when the fighter is at his best, the whole package not just one aspect.

Is he in his prime now?

That's it.... what started out as a bit annoying has now turned into trolling this thread.

You haven't made one valid statement in this thread all you've done is ask question after question after question.

Give your opinion on the topic and move on to the next thread.

              The questions are done.

It's an excuse just incase he loses even tho he looked great against Mosley. While Floyd' has one of the best defenses in this sport probably ever, he is still going to get hit every so often because he is only human. Some of the *****s think Floyd is past it because Mosley landed a hard-shot on him. But if floyd was really past it he wouldn't know how to survive and could have gotten stopped. He clinched Mosley right away than took over the fight after that.

Good point, the reason why he eased to victory over Baldomir was because Baldomir was very slow hand speed and slumbered around the ring for 12 rounds.

Floyd still took a negative approached to the fight and just pot shotted, in a performance that made the crowd boo and people leave the arena.

Mosley even at that stage of his career was better than Baldomir, and the handspeed and power to have a punchers chance, Baldomir never had that chance.

He's not the same as before, but he is still arguably P4P 1/end thread

                    • Floyd isn't in his physical prime anymore. Having said that, he's nowhere near shot at all. He's still arguably the best fighter in the world which is a credit to his dedication and talent. He's in his mid 30's. That's just what happens when you get older. Your physical skills start to slip. He's still an incredible fighter.
