Why do the US audience react so badly to Witter when he does flash moves/showboating?

Paulie just epitomizes the overhyped B.S. fighter coming out of that monster city.

A guy like him would have beeb beaten senseless coming through Phila's amateur program.

The way he acts...isn't "black". He's just an obnoxious dork....overrated because of his schtick & his residence.

why is he obnoxious. what does he do thats so awful?

he talks **** to fighters and talks **** about people that hes going to be hitting in the face?

i mean this is boxing it isnt tennis or some ***** sport, usually its good to have a little hostility in a sport where your hitting another guy.

as far as the way he acts, i think its pretty much black meaning "not white so straight"

he sure as hell doesnt act like white people do, thats for damn sure.

i dont see how hes overrated seeing how everyone seems to think hes exactly that "overrated".

only in NY is he respected.

how is philly a better fight town than ny?

you have hopkins, meldrick taylor, i mean name some more im just not thinking right now of great fighters from philly.

i can name a ton from NY.

judah, tyson, kevin kelley, bowe, junior jones, there are a lot of up and coming guys from NY, chin checkers.

    im just naming a few

the only good up coming fighters i can think of from philly is rock allen and rashiem jefferson.

im sure theres more but i think NY is defintiely a better fight town. by the way im honored that most people seem to think i am from NY or i live there or whatever but the truth is i dont, and actually have never even been there unfortunately.

i think it would be a great place to live and i do want to move there some day.

but yes i do like a lot of fighters from there, also like the yankees, but thats because they have players i like.

i never like a team because of where its from, i like them because of players on the team.

i the yankees were to lose williams, jeter, A-ROD, sheffield i wouldnt like them any more. but i am glad that new york has a good baseball team that i can go for.

also like th eknicks but theyre pretty ****ty, but i only like them cause of marbury other wise i wouldnt.

anyway im also white so before you call me racist you cant because i am the race of fighters that i cant stand for the most part.

malignaggi is the only fighter i have really ever liked thats white, it seems like there was someone else in the past but hell maybe not i dont know. at the most 2 white fighters ever thats pretty bad.

they all have no skills, speed, accuracy.

theyre either just brawlers with power, brawlers without power.

I dunno...I mean I am from Brooklyn, always trained at Gleason's
and quiet frankly I NEVERheard anybody hype Paulie in my gym...Damn, I never even heard anybody even talk about this kid.
A good example is that we got pictures of every decent fighter that trained at Gleason's(BTW biggest and baddest gym in Brooklyn)or just fought out of B'klyn and guess what? Paulie aint even there. So I dont know...If he was that hyped Brooklyn fighter he would surely be hyped or at least talked about in my gym. I mean I got all the information about this kid from this forum.

I am not saying that nobody ever mentions him...word comes from time to time...but I never heard anybod either praise him or be at least half interested in him. I mean, we talk alot about Judah and who he gonna fight next, would it be better for Harris if he stayed at Gleason's, and we talk alot about young fighters like Yuri Foreman.

            hmm

no white people have eve rliked to see black fighters or black people in general be ****y.
This is a complete falsehood, and some of you are going overboard with this racism trip. I like Roy Jones, I am white, and I am a boxer who has a style that is not slick like Roy's. All this considered, Roy is still my fave.

The racism that causes ppl to dislike the Klitschkos hasn't been addressed either. It's on both sides. Let's not pretend otherwise.

But yes, there are whites who just can't stand a ****y negro. (^_^)

Are you joking?? I assume you are because otherwise you would be trying to say Malignaggi an elite, great fighter.

I caught the Witter-N'Dou fight again the other day, and was amazed at how much the crowd hated Witter for all his flashy moves (which were also attacking moves - they weren't flash without substance) yet Roy Jones gets crowds yelping for his chicken dance.

Is it because he doesn't have an established rep? Cos he's not from the US? What?
I was at that fight at Staples Center....everyone in that crowd was pulling for N'dou because he was all business. Witter was joking around too much and we ALL laughed our asses off when he threw that roundhouse punch and landed on his knees. LOL. It doesn't have to do with his hometown because N'dou isn't from America also.

Witter wants to fight in the U.S. more, and he's signed with Hennessey Sports and has a three fight contract with Golden Boy Promotions. He's also still rated as the WBC light-welterweight mandatory after the recent WBC convention, although they want him to fight Branco 1st.

He's Floyd Mayweather's mandatory, and I believe that Floyd will vacate the belt on his way up to welterweight... So all this in hand... Very good chance that you'll get to see Witter fight in the States again.

Ohh +, He's developed more power because he's spent the last 5yrs working on it... His stance is one of the widest I've seen nowadays, it just goes to show... The power was always there, just needed to find out how to get it.

I think it's because of his nationality. Something that a lot of peopledon't understand about Americans ingeneral is that we are #1. It's as simple as that. If we're not #1, we do what we have to do to be #1.

This is kind of a weird comparison, but everyone is making a big deal about the Chinese right now being the #1 superpower in 5 years etc...that will never happen. Americans have too much penis envy...if yours is good, then our's has to be better.

I know that sounds kind of weird, but after a Master's degree, that's what I've come up with!
