Especially in the last few years.

Beating Pascal at 46 was a great accomplishment but that's about as good as Hearns beating Hill when he was way past his prime and #1 in his 5th weight class.

      Let alone the rest.
I'm not a hop fan by any means, but i like to know why hearns is "greater" than he is.

            Quit lying B-hop.

I remember him saying he would retire if he didn't KO Grant and how did that work out for him.

B-hop is a saftey first counter puncher and to think he would have stopped Hearns is foolish.

Haglar did it because he took more risk on the offensive side, but I just can't see B-hop doing it given his style.

This is all a moot point because the only reason he is saying this is because he know Hearns is Stewards prize pupil.

                I disagree........

"The Hopkins who KO'd Trinidad in 2001 would KO a middleweight Hearns, IMO."

First of all, TITO was not a middleweight, he was a TRUE welterweight. HOPKINS has never been a K.O. puncher. He has decent power in the right, but that's about it. HEARNS was a K.O. puncher with above average boxing ability. He wasn't as smart as HOPKINS but his skill and fast hands would have neutralized that HOPKINS advantage. Who wins? I don't know. It would have been a great fight with both fighters having moments. My point to you is, it is totally disrespcetful to HEARNS to say that HOPKINS would have K.O.ed a middleweight HEARNS. HEARNS was stronger and had the power of a heavyweight in his right hand, and could K.O. you with either. You people on this site give HOPKINS a little bit too much respect amongst greats. His biggest wins have come against either smaller men, or 1-demensional fighters. TITO, OSCAR, WRIGHT, JOPPY, PAVLIK, PASCAL.....You will see come OCT. how over-rated he really is.

Tommy Hearns is a 5 weight world Champion.

Amongst the greatest WW's in history. Amongst the greatest Jr Middleweights in history.

Beat Pipino Cuevas at his optimal weight that is argubally better than anyone that Hopkins beat at MW.

Beat Wilfred Benitez and Roberto Duran at Jr MW, which isn't their optimal weight, however, they were ranked #1 and #2 at the time he fought them. And are also possibly better than anyone Hopkins has beaten.

He beat Virgill Hill, in his 5th weight class, way past his prime, when Virgill Hill was #1 at LHW.

All of this, amongst a long list of wins over Top 5 ranked opposition.

Is why Hearns is greater than Bernard Hopkins.

Nah, Hopkins in his prime was a seek and destroy kind of guy, he made it an option to box and counter, but he strictly would look for the knock out. I'm not saying Hopkins would stop him either, me, I'd lean towards a U.D.

Hopkins would have beat Hearns not sure if he would have KO'd him though, but in his prime he did have that KO ability no doubt.
