Two of my favorite posters picked the Quintana fight....that fight, the further away it took place, has been remembered entirely wrong.

People act like Cotto just went in there and destroyed Quintana
....that was a VERY competitive fight until that body shot. I would go as far as to say that Quintana was winning the fight going into that 5th round. You guys need to watch that fight again...Quintana hurt Cotto with a body shot too.
I totally agree with you, i havent watch this fight in a while but i actually had Quintana outboxing cotto, until cotto found his range but the way cotto destroyed him AFTER founding his range was what made this cotto's best performance for me, The Mosley fight was too close for me to say that was his best perfromance.

Yea it was impressive no doubt, but you notice how now 5 years later that fight has become like a massacre win for Cotto and Quintana just went in there and got blown out...Cotto didn't look great for a lot of that fight.

I went with the Mosley fight because I didn't really think it was all that close. Cotto looked so sharp for most of the fight and towards the end the cut from the Judah fight opened up and he began to coast....then he still came back at and looked great at the end of the 10th and won the 11th. That was a clear victory to me against an elite opponent where the scores aren't really indicative of how in control Cotto was for most of that fight.

I love the Torres fight. He really had to dig down in that fight.

You save me a lot of writing. Yep!! what he said ^^^^

Can't go Mosley. Cotto played it safe after round 6 or 7 and gave up too many rounds. He should have won by a much wider margine or by TKO had he kept his head on right. Instead, he chose to box on his hind foot and lost some rounds and may have tarnished the ferociousness that he had before that fight.

IMO, it has to be Quintana. Especially after watching his first fight with PW.

I don't. The fight itself was great. But it got the wheels spinning in my head. Suppose Torres had an entire training camp for that fight?

Actually what happen in the Torres fight was that he tried to bully Torres and turns out that Torres had more speed and power than Cotto so he had to box to win BUT if had done that since the beginning he would have save himself a lot of trouble and You can say almost the same against the Corley fight.

I really hated the Cotto that fought thinking he was Margie (because of his chin) that was when he started to get hurt in fight because his latest reckless style, good thing that happened so he started boxing again for example Mosley, Gomez etc

Holy crap I had not seen this fight again.... That was a different Cotto, he took every shot Shane had, he even got clocked by the exact same overhand bomb that put May on ***** street and was almost unfazed... he had fluidity in his combination punching.... he stood in front of Mosley for most of the fight and fought fire with fire.... great performance...

Quintana fight was one, but also the way he beat Mosley, he went to war with a bigger and perhaps physically stronger man and just beat him at his own game, you might say. While also proving he was a skillful boxer.

But one good question and something I've wondered since before the Pac fight is: why did Miguel's popularity and stock fall so dramatically? Was it because of the Margarito fight? But even then, after they exposed the cheater, everybody shoulda felt sorry for Miguel and he shoulda regained his popularity, but the latter just didn't happen. Many did feel sorry for him, but to them he was just damaged goods...sad.

Cotto seems to take punches very well on top of the head.
