    Gomez? Really?

Yeah, they fought after Cotto beat Mosley. This was a Gomez who was on like a 6 win streak and who had retired Gatti 2 fights prior to the Cotto fight, but I mean it's still Alfonso Gomez, definitely not a world class fighter.

His best performance was probably against Quintana, like others have said. Or maybe the 2007 version of Mosley.

He was doing damn good against Margarito, but it seems Cotto was choosing speed over power by constantly moving away and throwing fast combos. He barely planted his feet to throw power shots. Moving away constantly AND throwing so many combinations requires an amazing amount of stamina.

He even forgot about going to Marg's body, which would have helped big time considering Margarito's freakish stamina.

Paul Williams beat Marg by outworking him, especially in the early rounds when Marg just sat there.

Mosley landed bombs on Margarito's body starting from the first round.

Pacquiao went to the body very often, and has amazing stamina himself.

cotto peaked for me in the mosely fight. ppl say quintana. but quintana has never been that good to begin with. in the mosely fight is when we really got to see how good the guy really was. that was a great fight that i had cotto winning by at least 2 or 3 rounds. that version of mosely was probably good enough to beat everyone else on his resume. so that says something.

True, if you can't make your opponent respect your power, he's just gonna keep coming. He did forget to attack Margs body, which is funny because Margarito was all over Cotto's body. I don't think Cotto would have been able to hurt Margarito by taking it to the head, but he may have been able to get a little more respect. And yea I think your right--the stamina issue WAS the issue. He almost had that fight though. You could see how hopeless he felt in the end. He tried so hard but it didn't matter.

Yea he straight out-boxed Mosley, and I had him winning 8/4. The reason I liked the Margarito performance was because he just looked really good prior to round 7 really. It's funny that Mosley couldn't hurt him that badly but Margarito touched him with two left uppercuts and he was in serious trouble after that. The body work is what really stopped Cotto though I think. If his stamina wasn't already in trouble that killed it.

If I had to pick a second performance it would be Mosley for sure. I just give him so much respect for the amount of effort he put into the Margarito fight.

The Mosley fight, the Mosley fight and I'll go as far as saying nothing else comes close. He really impressed me there, I actually picked Mosley to stop him too.

its hard to kno what to make out of the margarito fight. cotto did look good at the beginning but his weaknesses showed heavily in that fight. he lacks defense and his head movement was atrocious and he loves to back into the ropes for some odd reason. but with that said, we dont kno whether margarito was cheating or not. to me i have more ?s than answers for that bout.
