is this thread srs? if 2 people jump from 10 metres not both will get the exact same injuries u dumb assh*le.

boxers have different bodies and react differently to being hit.

He is a boxer. Every boxer takes damage. Ali fought some hard punchers, he can't avoid every shot.

Plus he had a great chin, so he took more punches without being knocked out, so accumalative effects.
Looks at James Toney he dont get knocked out but still has to take punches. His brain is probably wishing Toney would take the 10 second count so it could have a rest from the punches.

ali fought as low as 188 himself

anyway archie moore started at 145 and knocked rocky marciano down and beat joey maxim who had just defeated sugar ray robinson

          could floyd do that?

          annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnway

vitali started his career in 1996 so how come he never fought prime holyfield, lewis, bowe, any version of tyson uptill 2000
basically he didnt fight anyone untill his loss to byrd

its true hes never really lost but its also true he's never been tested by anyone except lewis who stopped him with 50+ stitches to his face

            as others have said

ali lost his best 3 years and yet he still beat the best competition there has ever been in a HW division

he was a blown up cruiserweight but he moved like a middle weight
at his prime he couldnt be hit not that it mattered because his chin was granite anyway

he influenced every great fighter after

From an illegal hold and hit, and it doesnt matter what he fought at, fact is Ali at 221 lbs was fighting guys weighing in at 180 lbs...Thats a freaking joke. He gave title shots back to back to guys with combined 20 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws. And if he was so hard to hit pre-lay off...why did 185 lbs Henry Cooper knock him out and force him to cheat?

I get it, so youre saying he was physically inferior in the brain than fighters like the Klitschko's and thus punches caused more brain damage to him than other fighters. Not sure you can be considered the greatest with such a major deformity.

Again, why so many robberies? Why give title shots to chuck wepner, alfredo evangelista, leon spinks, richard dunn, jimmy young, jean-pierre coopman, joe bugner...all int he golden age where all the "great heavyweights" were around...

And pre-lay offs, where Ali was fighting police chiefs and volunteer fire fighters who happened to be in the audience and 98 year old Archie moore...he still was dropped by 10 win 2 loss Sonny Take it to the Bank Banks, beat by Doug Jones and refused to rematch, forced to cheat against Henry Cooper, won 2 rigged fights against Liston (first fight was a draw before Liston quit), then defended his title against ATG's like Henry Cooper again, Brian London, and Karl Mildenberger....thats some stiff competition there............................................. ...........................

When his legs failed him later in his career he employed the rope a dope and depended on his excellent chin to absorb punches. Like Ali isnt a classic case of a fighter fighting way beyond his prime. Seriously this may be the dumbest thread in NSB history.
