being top10 atg along guys like willie pep or duran is a slap in the face?

alis resume is rock solid but you can't deny his popularity gives him some extra points when people talk about his legacy.

I wish I can see some fights of every fighter in the last 100 years. First of all I don't even have the time to do that. Secondly, you would be hard pressed to find even one fight of some of those boxers in historians top 100 ATG list. I have tried my best to find some of fights of some of these fighters in the trading block and can't find any, only training videos if i'm lucky. Lastly, texts, old newspaper articles and training videos of robotic boxers in black in white don't tell me shit.

        Greatness is resume and accomplishments.

Ali resume nor accomplishments are greater than guys like SRR, Langford, Armstrong, or Greb.

Doesn't mean he wasn't a great fighter. He damn sure was. One of the greats. But, when you are ranking ATG list. Skills and talent are nice. But, resume and accomplishment trumps that

Harry thats not what I said. Being Top 10 isnt a slap in the face but acting like Ali is mainly considered great because he was popular....is.

and what is the problem with this? im trying to figure that out. same thing can be said about jordan. i dont get why ppl try to use it as a detriment against him.

It's not a detriment to him. It just means people will generally rate him higher than they should (accomplishment and resume wise).

Being popular or charismatic is not a bad thing, but it has little to do with how great a fighter you are.

                I'll ignore the Robinson line.

But, have you seen a Harry Greb fight?

because he defeated around 13 HOF's some of them with one eye

                  he defeated 18 World Champions

he has arguably the the best resume in boxing history

he was arguably the greatest Middleweight with guys like Robinson and Monzon

I'm horrible at searching. Any one knows where I can find Harry Greb, Langford, full fights?

                    I'd really appreciate it.

thats the problem. not to say that what these guys did wasnt great. how can u measure it against another great guy we have seen when u have nothing but newspaper clippings etc.? because the numbers? how does that work? sure a guy like greb fought much more than ali, but how do we know his quality of opponent was anywhere near as good as ali's? i dunno that and the fact is that anybody who would is most likely not alive.
