hard to say he didnt earn it. hes no hype job. even if u rank the others above him, its not because of what ali lacks, its because of what they might have done.

      no mention of archie moore?
last guy to knock out marciano
      archie (middle weight) moore
at 39 beat maxim (who had just beaten SRR)

      anyway- ali is the greatest
he was a blown up cruiser weight in the most dominant HW division era- and he owned everyone- including losing 3 of his prime years

in other words- he dominanted the hardest HW division when he was past his prime

At heavyweight: Yes. Some say Joe Louis, I'm taking Ali all day.

Including all divisions: No. He may not even be top 5 all time including all divisions, which sounds crazy but shows just how good some of the lower weight fighters were and how impressive their resumes are.

Who would be favourite against a prime Ali?

So maybe he can be considered the greatest.

in a headup fight yes, but thats not really what most people think about when judging greatness.

The problem with Heavyweights when it come to judging resume/accomplishments is that Heavyweights who competed their whole career at Heavyweight will always be at a disadvantage when it come to all time P4p lists.......

If you look at most peoples GOAT lists...it includes people who have gone up in weight to win titles....heavyweights dont have that luxury........

At heavyweight its between him and Louis. P4p I rank Langford, Greb, Robinson with Ali somewhere between 15 and 20 or so. Just to many other fighters in history who fought and beat better comp. Ali beat the best heavyweight comp, not the best overall comp.

I pretty much agree with the common opinion that Ali is the greatest Heavyweight of all time but not greatest P4P of all time.
