Oh and as for PAC being a predator, it depends how it goes. Marg was the predator. Oscar was the predator. Hatton again chased PAC. Clottey stood there, and mosely did run. It is a misconception that PAC is a predator, he even ran from David Diaz. He did chase cotto when cotto legged it, but the early rounds, he stood there and wasn't really chasing.
Marg, ODLH, Cotto, Diaz and Hatton were coming forward because they were expecting a weak Pac at that weight, like everyone else... Once they realized how strong Pac was at that weight, they became the prey suprisingly... Not until recently with Mosley, did fighters finally realize that they are the prey when they're in with Pac at 147....
As for Tyson, his prime was what, late 80's. His weight was mainly 217 to 222 when he did well. I had a debate on haye, klit and weight recently. However Tyson had been 214 a few times I recall early on. As for Lewis, no doubt he is an ATg in my mind. Going against him at any weight won't be easy.
Yes, that's true. Lewis was a beast... But the point was is Tyson's "performance" when he added the extra 20lbs. I think he weighed like 234 which was his highest ever. Granite, this wasn't the same Tyson from the 80's, but he had zero cardio...
It's if PAC went up and faced a prime welter that is an atg, then ok I would be su****ious, however apart from floyd, there are none at ww. If PAC beats mayweather by 9 to 3 rounds, I'll find it strange, however against the likes of marg who wasn't a favourite, not so much. Bar Oscar, I would say PAC was the favourite in every fight since.
True statement. 147 was packed a few years ago... How times have changed...
Out of all the "elite" fighters in the past 100 years of boxing, do you think Martinez/Pac are the only ones that know how to plant and throw power punches?
Mayweather is another fighter with perfect technique, who's been a student of the game for over 30 years. I think he and many others know how to throw a punch....
Martinez/Pac aren't throwing punches better than anyone other elite fighter. They just have power that when it connects, it could be lights out....
Even the very elite fighters have weaknesses and areas they can improve upon....and yes fighters, even ATG's such as Lennox Lewis, improve their technique in the middle of their career to take it to the next level.
Look at George Foreman and Prince Naseem Hamed. Those guys are great fighters but their technique was complete ****....so just image how hard they would have been punching if they used proper technique. Again it's so simple, according to you, yet all time greats such as Foreman rarely done it.

Mayweather throws punches with the perfect technique for his STYLE. Which is a defensive style - it doesn't rely on power. You think Mayweather didn't actually have the power to stop Marquez? Of course he could have. He just wasn't interested in it. Mayweather is interested in winning the fight, that's it.
Pacman has always been about knocking people out. He technique has improved and therefore his power has improved.
So out of all the boxers in the last 100 years I believe that the majority of them who moved several weight classes (not very many of those) changed their style to become less offensive because they were not interested in getting hit by bigger guys. That's why there are so few fighters who keep their power.
Which is what makes Pacman so amazing. He has kept his offensive style and is beating the bigger guys.
toney - wouldn't call him a real puncher at any weight, but he could dish out and sustain punishment all the way from MW to HW, which is just remarkable.
That isn't really remarkable considering he got busted for steroids while this was happening. I'm pretty sure he was being trained by Freddie Roach too.
I can tell most of you guys don't follow the sport as you don't even have to go back in history to find fighters who have retained there power moving up.
Here are some examples:
1. Nonito Donaire-dude was a monster at 112, and is just as vicious of a puncher at 118 (ask former champs Siderenko and Montiel)
2. Sergio Martinez- dude couldn't stop Cintron and other fighters at 154, but at 160 he has monstrous power.
3. Juan Manuel Marquez-great FW, but since moving to LW he has stopped everyone he has faced.
4. Vic Darchinyan-he has kept his power moving up, but people think he hasn't because of the Agbecko fight. Well King Kong has the best chin in boxing bar none so you can kinda disregard that fight.
5. Jhonny Gonzales is alot stronger since moving up.
I will stop here but alot of it is improved technique (Martinez and Pacquiao) change in style (Marquez) or just not draining themselves or filling out (Cotto, Gonzalez and others.
Let's actually follow the sport instead of posting/feeding into bull**** consiracy threads.
jorge arce 108-122 5th weight class titles in 4
jhonny gonzales 118-126
guerrero- this guy will fight maidana in his 4th weight class.
hopkins- 15 pound muscle gain in 6 months and kept his speed increase his stamina and output
