you crazy, its easy for you to say that as fan, but as a boxer I don't see how you can ask for this. If you are a real boxing fan you have seen the damage that can be done in not only 12 but even 6 rounds, trying to make 15 for your "sitting at the couch pleasure" is a ****** comment.Comment

Whilst the thing about more people being killed in 12 rounders than 15 rounders is a valid point to bring up, at the same time it's a very small number of people who die in the ring. Whereas i'd bet that the number of people who end up with long term mental problems are greater if they've been fighting 15 rounds rather than 12 rounds and there's more of them than people who die in the ring.
Though the main point for me is that it's not hard to find a winner after 12 rounds. Adding 3 more rounds is more a case of who has the better heart and stamina rather than who has the better boxing skills. It's just unnecessary punishment imo, purely to please the fans. Plus the fighters have been fighting 12 rounds all their life, you can't suddenly demand that they go for 15 rounds in the biggest fight of their life.
It wouldn't always be entertaining either, take Klitschko-Haye for example. Nobody wants three more rounds of that borefest.Comment

Ive done 12 rounds DOZENS AND DOZENS of times in the gym, did 15 a few times...once did 22 rounds with two guys (Derrick and Darrin Whitley) who were alternating one round each (it was kind of a verbal challenge I took them up on)...the most I ever did in one session was 27 rounds....

This...........They call it Parkinsons, after all Ali was the greatest. Possibly taint the beautiful yet brutal art or possibly sway you into thinking it was something else.
Jerry Quarrey was an interesting tale, a tough kid with the heart of a lion and a never say die attitude.
I can't remember their names, they were featured in a documentary that I had watched. A couple of young boxers coming up fighting their way through the profession ranks. The footage was shot in a care giving center where people could not care for themselves. One brother had to wear a hockey helmet because he continued to fall down. I believe that the other was in a wheelchair. Neither brother could speak very well and their mental capacities were limited.
I also can't remember this guys name. An ex worlds champion who spent his elderly years in a care giving center every morning reminding the nurses that he had a fight tonight and that he needed to get ready.
Check out Ad Wolgast and how he spent many of his years after retiring from the ring.
Walk up to Al "Blue" Lewis, shake his monsterous hand and say hello. If you can understand anything of what he might say to you then let me know. Great hearted man is Blue.
Man, I can't remember his name.... That kid from Louisville who stole the show at the '60 olympics and then set the professional game ablaze. A single man who changed the world......
Ali did very well, you will not find him in a care center being tended to by nurses. You will find him at home being taken care of by family and nurses. But he is the greatest......... Parkinsons

There is no doubt in my mind that when it happens the sanction bodies and promoter should make a special provision that Mayweather and Pacquio should be allowed to go FIFTEEN rounds in their fight...definitely...bring all fights of this magnitude, only the BIGGEST SUPER FIGHTS, back to 15 rounds...make them REALLY special...Didnt Jin just Own you?

NOTHING to do with pleasing any fans...thats not why I propose the idea...not even a little bit...you crazy, its easy for you to say that as fan, but as a boxer I don't see how you can ask for this. The title on the Jin/Scully thread is misleading. She didn't own anything.Comment
