    My proposal...

There is no doubt in my mind that when it happens the sanction bodies and promoter should make a special provision that Mayweather and Pacquio should be allowed to go FIFTEEN rounds in their fight...definitely...bring all fights of this magnitude, only the BIGGEST SUPER FIGHTS, back to 15 rounds...make them REALLY special...

Pacquiao only needs one-round to smoke him out of the water.

Floyd doesn't want a 15 rounder, it gives Pacquiao 3 more rounds to get a knockout win.

because 15 rounds as opposed to 12 adds a whole NEW mental and physical and emotional dimension to an already HUGE event... and you pretty much know in advance what fights are super anticipated...like Leonard-Hearns 1, Hagler-Leonard, Jones-Toney, Holmes-Cooney, etc...

Yeah, I think it's a great idea and think introducing 15 round fights back into boxing would generate a lot of publicity to the sport. The idea of having the 12 or 15 round fight as an option, rather than mandatory makes a lot of sense. Guys like Mayweather and Pacquaio are definitely have the conditioning to go the extra rounds and it would add another element to this super fight.

What is the feasibility of such a condition in Vegas?
They did bend the rule for Cotto-Margarito gloves condition...

I say let them go unlimited rounds, after two years of BS, one of them needs to get KTFO...

I would love to see it turn into a 15 round fight.

I think floyd and manny are 2 of very few fighters today that are 15 round fighters. Both those guys are 15 round fighters. I would love to see them go at it for 15 rounds.

                  It will never pass though.

I like it, John. I wouldn't even mind seeing all championship fights go fifteen rounds. But the idea of limiting the proposal to "super" fights is even better. I wonder what the fighters and their promoters would have to say about it? Once the change is in, it's difficult to reverse. What do they have to gain?

The twelve round limit was brought about as a safety measure. It's like in baseball, the coaches adhere to that 100 pitch count like it's law. It's unlikely they'll ever go back to the days where a pitcher is allowed to go on as long as he's effective.
