My bad.. they both faced Shannon Briggs with the difference being Briggs went straight home after his fight with Lewis as opposed to having a 2 week all out paid concussion induced expenses in a hospital suite after facing Vitali. As for better comp... like i said it's a matter of opinion & why is Vitali supposed to be penalized for it when he DIDN'T duck ANY ONE of the supposed better opponents Lewis faced... ummmmm.

At least he showed UP for Byrd before giving away his belt to him.. Lewis just handed it over to the commision rather than face Byrd. Yes Vitali did do it once.. retiring & giving away his belt but the difference being it was due to in juries & NOT ducking.. to show that it was an abberation he came back 4 yrs later & retrieved without a tuneup.. the fact that he's on the verge of retiring a second brit legend who will have rather retired than get in the ring with him speaks volumes.

You got jokes now... son. They both had scheduled meetings with Rahman. Vitali has one less ONE punch knockout to him. so i;d say he came out with the better resume vs him.

Well that all may be true son... but his eye damn near dangling out of his head didn;t stop him from coming forward & being the aggressor for all 6 epic rds. He may have looked like one eyed willie but fought like Jason Voorhies & the only thing stopping him that night was some quack doctor appointed & paid off by Lennox's camp.

Lennox should have rematched Vitali like he promised on live television. Lewis knew he was lucky to get that win by default. He was coming on strong, though, so I guess you gotta take it as it is. . . Lewis has a better resume, but the fact that he didn't rematch vitali really makes that W tainted.

I wouldn't feel comfortable saying that either would beat the other. . . it's lost in the pages of history. . . All Vitali can do is what he's been doing - marching onward whipping ass at age 40. . .

if you yourself think that lennox faced the better opponents why do you think vitali is better? the best fighter he fought was an old lewis he was ahead on the scorecards but lost nonetheless by way of tko. even wlads present cutman said that there was no way for vitali to continue the fight because of an bleeding inside his mouth which made him swallow to much blood.

Vitali is the more dominant fighter regardless of competition. Vitali clearly has the better numbers across the board. Like i said it goes both ways here. If we're going to penalize Vitali for something that's NOT in his control like competition as we DON'T know how he would've fared against Lennox's comp. all we have to go on is there fights with Briggs & against each other & even though Vitali was more dominant in said clashes. we'll just say it's a wash.. getting back to my point..

do we KNOW if Lennox would've been as dominant given Vitali's comp as Vitali was against them... why does it have to be that Lennox fought the better comp therefore he's the better boxer with the better resume.. it's all bogus... just like it's NOT a given that Vitali fares just as well with Lewis' comp.. it's NOT a given Lewis is as dominant with Vitali's comp.. but we're all programmed to think Vitali is inferior to Lennox because of era & comp when It's Vitali that has MORE physical advantages over his opponents than even Lennox

Lewis was knocked out by Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall, I can't see that happening to Vitali, not in a million meetings.

Anyone who actually watched Vitali vs Lewis fight rather than looked up the result on BoxRec 10 years later knows Vitali was the better man that night on the cards, in endurance, chin, etc. Cuts happen.

Wlad vs Lewis is an interesting debate but Vitali is head and shoulders above both of them. He was the all-round package.
