    Yeah, he's getting old.

    lol.
Yea, I'm sticking with it. He isn't even showing much. For his age he has no edge to speak of Khan has speed, Rios has power, Maidana has strength, and others.

For Peterson's age he should be a developed fighter with an edge to brag about. Sergio has his wild style, his speed, and his knockout power. Peterson what does he have? A heart? A determination? All of this are personal characteristics what I'm taking about is skill and attribute. What is Peterson's edge that he can brag?

To be honest, Peterson has nothing to brag and for his age it may become that he is just a one time champion as well. Jorge Arce was always a ****er and a fighter who comes to fight. Erik Morales was a very technical fighter. Juan Manual Marquez was a counter puncher from hell same with Duckweather. So, what is Peterson's edge at his age? He is old and he has nothing special to show. Same with Chavez Jr. what is his edge?

Pacquiao was a one handed power puncher. A volume puncher who can hurt boxers from Round 1 to Round 12. What is Lamont Peterson's edge at his age. Knockout power? Against Victor Cayo? Victor Cayo who kept dropping his arms and offering his face to get punched? All Peterson needed to do was give Cayo a straight punch but all he threw at the fight were left hooks and right hooks and round house/hayemaker punches. Does Peterson even have a straight punch to speak about? Look at Khan and Pacquiao both men throw straight punches and what happens to their opponents broken noses all the time. Look at Mosley and Judah both have broken noses because of straight punches. You can't break a nose from a left hook or right hook or even a hayemaker all you can manage to hit are the chin, cheeks, or the forehead, or the back of the head in actual matches. That is why noses break even with a jab because it is a straight light punch straight to bridge of the nose.

Back to the question what is Lamont Peterson's edge at his age of 27? Even Antillon has an edge because the guy is a fighter who will only go down from a straight brawl not from lazy jabs or far away hooks.

Lamont landed many good straight rights through out the fight.

        Cayo had a decent chin.

He has a certian style wich involves inside fighting.

He reminds me of an orthodox young Winky.

He can still improve that left hook and try and up his workrate.

Other than that he's a very solid fighter.

Lamont peterson would make it a better fight than his brother, thats what i think. I'm going to vote peterson, even though my head says rios. I just think an older brother would want to avenge his younger brother and lamont has a lot of heart and determination. He's also a better boxer and is more level headed. I think he'll hurt rios' body real bad if they in fight.

            Don't take this as sarcasm.

I read what you wrote and basically came to this conclusion that Lamont Peterson has no edge but he is a decent and an all around fighter. Don't get me wrong decent fighters can become champions just like David Diaz, Jean Pascal, and countless one time champions in the history of boxing.

Lamont Peterson has no edge and for his age of 27 he might just become a one time champion because of it. Or he can become like Brian Viloria who just won his third championship belt at a different weight against a tough opponent. However, Viloria has always been a very technical fighter similar in Ivan Calderon's league with the same flaw of lack of stamina and questionable resistance from pressure fighters.

So, what can Lamont Peterson develop into his edge? The impenetrable defense of Winky Wright similar to Joshua Clottey's humungous arms of turtle defense.

Also, negative about the in-fighting skills of Peterson. I thought it lacked technique and it was just sloppy from both fighters. I'm reminded of Rios vs Antillon superb in-fighting match and that is what I call inside fighting with technique.

Now, what you call straight punches to me were just light jabs. And Peterson isn't even keen on throwing consistent jabs that even Vitali and Wlad beat him in terms of throwing consistent jabs and they are both Heavyweights too.

Cayo has a decent chin. I accept that. Cayo just gave up and didn't stand that showed me he has no pride on himself. He accepted he lost before the fight was finalized and didn't stand up just because of a knockdown.

Yea, Lamont Peterson is a solid fighter so is David Diaz if we are going by decent standing and nothing more than that.

I dont think Peterson needs to fight inside, just box Rios and he should win.
