Rios is a better version of Tony. He is just as tough, great chin, faster hands, better power, great pressure fighter and his defense altho not great is still better than tony's as he keeps his hands up and tucks his chin tightly.

To beat a guy like rios you have to have power. He will eat up boxers who dont have power.

what was found out about Ortiz subsequently was that if he kept his attack constant then he can actually beat fighters at the upper level. This bore out with the Berto fight or do you think Lamont is better than Berto as well?

Ortiz let off the gas, was told by his trainer that he has this and to box carefully, and let Lamont in

and trust me I was rooting for Lamont in that fight. Been a fan of the Petersons since they were with Prize Fight my boy Nate on here can atest to that

Lamont was dead in the water in the third and should have been finished off in the 4th and Ortiz backed off
I think if Peterson was dead in the water like ya said he would have been KO'd..That did not happen main reason was Peterson made adjustments, started using movement and pumping that Jab none stop in Ortiz face..Its easy to hit and beat up a guy who lays on the ropes and holds his hands up an let's you tee off on you(Berto)..

Ortiz Corner told him to be careful not let off the gas or not to attack,be careful is different then them telling him not to attack..As for is Peterson a better fighter then Berto..I don't yet the jury is still out on that one,but judging how they both faired against Ortiz I'm leaning toward Peterson bro..He boxed better and at the end of the fight(with Ortiz)he was the only one with a winning card both the other cards were draws..

Lamont Petterson is a glorified loser, He lost to Bradley and was given a gift draw against Ortiz.

Rios would beat him, Petterson just does a Mosley, Turns up to get a paid day and not cause an upset like a good journeyman.

IMO Rios takes it to Peterson far easier than Ortiz did at 140, because Ortiz was struggling so hard to make 140 he took a pretty big hit in movement. Rios wouldn't have the same issues and would I think be as natural a fit for LWW as Ortiz was against Berto at welter.

All adds up to Rios by violence.

Lamont loves to fight on the inside.

Could he do that vs Rios?

How does Rios compare to Ortiz Physically?

Like them both but I'm gonna go with Rios. Rios will get stunned a few times.

This is an superb fight Lamont is tougher and grittier than his bro but Rios is slicker than he looks and puts another Peterson on his mantle

Miguel Vazquez could beat Rios IMO.

I think he can,he is not a head hunter on the inside the main focus is the body and that will sap some of Rios power...
