This pretty much sums up how involved Michael Cons is with Pacquiao negotiations:
PACQUIAO VS CLOTTEY: Catchweight or no catchweight, that is the question

If you believe that the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey welterweight championship fight is already a done deal, think again.

Just as when the talks for the fight, set at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, looked to have a smooth sailing, the March 13 confrontation might, after all, suffer the same fate met by the now aborted Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout.

Thanks or no thanks to the seemingly long-prevailing organizational mess up within the Pacquiao camp. While chief trainer Freddie Roach had earlier announced that there won’t be a catchweight limit and the Filipino icon will defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight crown at 147 pounds, Pacquiao’s Canadian adviser Michael Koncz has come up with a different pronouncement.

“There would be no catchweight for the bout. It will be at 147,” Roach told the on theGrind Boxing Radio.
Koncsz, on the other hand, in an interview with Boxing FanHouse, said Pacquiao is fighting the former titleholder at a catchweight 144 pounds.

"That's what the catchweight is for this fight," Koncz told Lem Satterfield of Boxing FanHouse also last Sunday.

This development, another example of the mixed signals coming from the Pacquiao camp, apparently meant that no one, knew, not even Roach, of what Koncz was talking about.
Roach, by way explaining his statement, said Pacquia is already comfortable with fighting at the full welterweight limit of 147 pounds.

"Manny's comfortable at the weight [147 pounds]. Making 135 was a bit of a struggle, making 140, we can make 140 with ease,” the three-time ‘Trainer of the Year’ awardee said.

“But he likes the extra strength, he likes eating the day of the weigh-in. When Manny's eating the day of the weigh-in and gets to eat twice before the weigh-in, he's happy and that's when he performs at his best, when he's smiling and in a good mood," Roach further explained.

"He's not in an angry mood because he's starving himself. Making weight is a little bit overrated I think and Manny Pacquiao is proof. He's fighting at a weight he's comfortable at. He'll come into this fight like 144-145 and he'll go into the ring at 148 or 149 at most and that's his best fighting weight," he reasoned out.

Koncz sees it differently though. Despite Roach's confidence in the fact that Pacquiao is comfortable at the weight, Koncz still thinks he might be too small to handle the size and strength of a big welterweight like Clottey and would prefer the pound-for-pound champion to defend his WBO title at an even lower weight than he originally won it at.

If this reasoning holds true, then Clottey, who has had a difficult time of making 147 pounds in the past and hasn't weighed less than 145 pounds in nearly 13 years, will be at a severe disadvantage come March 13th.

Those conflicting views, once again, proved a breakdown in communication among members of Team Pacquiao – this time between the trainer and the adviser. It's, indeed, hard to imagine that Pacquiao, who fought and knocked out defeated Cotto at a catchweight of 145 pounds, would require Clottey to fight him a pound lower at 144.

You're better off listening to what Buboy says about any Pac negotiations

Pac agreed last year. It's over. Time for new excuses.

Last year you guys went back to google university and graduated with degrees in finance and law. We had 300 page threads committed to explaining why taxes and trials were preventing Floyd from fighting Manny back then.

I say go back to 'school', maybe study medicine this time and come back here. I'm sure whatever you guys come up with will be very entertaining

        mmmmmmm let's be happy:

        http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/s...ml?CMP=OTC-RSS
        ESPN staff: ( REAL JOURNALISTS)

The much-anticipated super-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jnr has taken a significant step closer after Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, said his charge is willing to agree to random drug testing - but not by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

Negotiations have previously collapsed over the timing of sampling, with Pacquiao refusing to accept Mayweather's demands of Olympic-style probes right up until fight night.

But while Arum's revelation does fuel hopes of a bout materialising, the situation is clouded by Pacquiao's decision to file a defamation lawsuit against Mayweather, which has done nothing to quell the animosity between the camps.

"We have agreed in the Pacquiao camp to unlimited random testing done by a responsible, neutral organization," Arum told Yahoo. "We don't believe USADA is a neutral organization.

"I don't think anybody's test is as vigorous as the test administered by the Olympic Organization. And we can arrange for the Olympic Organization to handle the test under the supervision of the Athletic commission respective of the state where the fight is going to be held.

"We're not going to make this into a cowboy situation. We have an organization that has no authority [USADA] and even does it [blood testing] without reporting to an organization that is responsible for the conduct of the fight.

"We are focusing on Pacquiao v Marquez fight [on November 12]. And if Pacquiao beats Marquez again and then if Mayweather says he's agreeable to us, then we can have the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight next year."

        --------------------------------------------------------------------

do you guy's notice something difference in this article?? LOL
looks like they fix your article Mr. RUMORED JOURNALIST

let's be happy boxing fans, now the question is if manny cant trust USADA what anti doping organisation will he trust???

Celebrate what exactly? Fake news and rumors? Celebrate 3 years of ducking? Celebrate that it took 3 years to agree to blood tests? Celebrate that they could have been working on the rematch or trilogy by now if Manny agreed in the first place? Celebrate the fact that Manny racked up bull**** wins over aging fighters for 3 years (actually longer than 3 years)? Manny ain't agreeing, it ain't happening. More spin from Team Gullible.

              OMG!!!!!!

              Bob Arum:

Here's the picture:"USADA tests these two fighters and the Nevada State Athletic Commission is responsible for the fight. So, if one of the fighters is tested dirty, what can happen?" explodes Arum in red-hot
countenance. "I mean, nobody can sort this thing out. This is absolutely absurd! There's nothing wrong with Olympic drug-testing. But it has to be done in a sensible, fair manner."

arum why one of the fighters can be tested dirty???? OMG the emails the Atlas emails!!!!

Floyd fans are completely in a denial mode. Here we have another positive news that could finally make the fight happen, yet, they again ignore this and continue their ranting about issues that are now irrelevant. Arum and Pac have stated that they accept Floyd's demand. That should have ended all debates about the issue. All that is needed now is for both camps to sit down and finalize the agreement.
Unfortunately, that is not the case. All the old excuses are still being rehashed. Pac said different things two years ago; Arum does not want to deal with Floyd; Pac, Arum and the rest of Pac's team are all liars; Pac's team are just playing games but they don't really want the fight; now they want the Olympics organization to do the Olympics style testing (duh);etc., etc., etc..Anything to disrupt the fight from happening.
This indicates only one thing, Floyd and his avid fans do not want this fight from happening. This could expose Floyd and the myth of the invincibility of the slick black American boxer. Everything must be done to keep this belief from getting shattered.

pac's pr people are doing a terrible job not clearing this up. team pac needs to gather around and hold a press conference. they need to set the record straight. they need to face the fact that they're dealing with queen floyd.

if i were to advise pac and his team, i'd say that they should give everything what floyd wants. pac needs to give up the $10 million weight penalty, let floyd decide the glove size, ring size; floyd should be given first name billing, he should be introduced last on fight night, pac needs to settle for 20 in the purse split, or better yet, arum just needs to come up with the $100 million floyd demands, and lastly, agree to testing including one on the day of the fight, you name it. hell, just give floyd everything he wants and get this fight over with. let floyd win, if possible, so he can have his zero intact. let him retire for good after that.

                      people are sick of floyd.
