When he stepped up in competition he lost? What are you talking about?

You talking about Santos? That was at 154 not 147 and even then Santos is no bum and even then it was a close fight that Marg was coming on strong and arguably winning the fight, and even then he made Santos fight in a way that Santos had never fought before or after.

Margarito had no great skills. But, he did one thing great and that was he made you fight in a way that was uncomfortable for you.

Margarito during this time period. Was a tough out for any WW around this time.

And, the mystique was created not by Top rank...That's something Floyd fans like to use...But, from other fighters not willing to step up and fight him.
What do floyd fans have to do with this? We have a different opinion of where Marg was during this time period. You are right the fight was at 154.

I am not one that makes a fighter better based on people not fighting him. I assess a fighter based on what I have seen. Because zab, ODH, floyd and mosley didn't fight him in 2004 doesn't make him any better or worse a fighter.

**** I've been following the sport for many years now and I don't know who the alphabet champs are in each division. And I dont give a **** because I know who the best are. just enjoy the fights.
I been following the sport basically since I was 6 years old and being a champion means something. Its something boxers hold in high regard atleast most of them and for Margarito to get 2 in back to fights is a joke no matter how much bad blood is between him and Cotto.

In hindsight a lot of fighters get overrated like hell on this site. Out of those 4 the only who Marg beats is Judah. Oscar, Floyd, younger Shane wouldve bent him over, no lube.

Its almost as if Jan Zavick is the most feared ww now.
Yea because Zavick is KO'ing prospects and contenders. Because, people are turning down career high paydays to not fight him. Because, you got other title holders saying straight up they will not fight him...

Yes Big Dunce, is pretty much the same thing.

And, you keep talking about this 225k PPV like if it's so horrible. Around that time...What type of PPV numbers was Judah pulling? Take Floyd away what PPV numbers did Judah ever do? What about Mayorga? Take Tito and Oscar away what PPV did he do?

Meaning a champion doesn't mean jack **** nowdays, sad but true, when you got the face of boxing cliaming 'all belts do is collectdust' it's a new era of boxers, not the era where belts meant something.

It's not helped when some bull**** belts are getting made up on the spot also, WBA Super champion belt, fack outta here.

No title is respected now. All the titles now are a joke so what's your point? That's beyond the issue because he was actually building up a pretty damn solid resume. If you look at the resumes from 2000-2009 at WW. Only Mosley can be said to having a better resume...And, that is much much much better than having a recognized belt or not.

During the period we are disvussing, the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles, if you held them, you were the unified champ. The WBO wasn't recognized.

Agreed but that wasn't the time fram cuauht was referencing when I responded. He was referencing the middle of the decade when Marg got the "most avoided" title that top rank runs with.

The whole "Marg is not good it was just Top Rank propaganda" **** that you insinuated a few posts. Is really just the mindset of mostly Floyd fans...Why I have no idea. So that were that came from.

There was a reason...Why they felt the way they felt towards Marg...The risk didn't out weight the reward in any way.

IMO if Zab has is head on straight (i know iknow) he beats Marg easily. Zab is too fast and skilled.
