He's not comparing his record of fighting top-tier guys, but on intangibles alone he has every right to do so.
gatti has no right to say that rjj was "exposed" in his first fight against tarver, one becuase it isnt true, gatti is a c level fighter trying to destroy the reputation of an A level fighter. he should shut up, i cant believe hes saying anything, keeping in mind the absolute BEATING he just took at the hands of pbf

      hmm

Toney isn't only an all time great because he likes his style, his resume speaks for itself. Wins over Nunn, McCallum twice, Reggie Johnson (at SuperMiddle, or Middle), Jirov, Holyfield, and more to come. He's a hall of famer right now, and an all time great, and he's still got some gas left in his tank. Not to mention that he's only lost four of his 76 fights. That's pretty damn impressive.
I like Toney. I was just responding to some asshat who says Toney's legacy is better than Roy's because of what Toney has done at heavyweight...which is obviously complete bull****.

        The funny thing is...

Hopkins claim to fame came 10 years after he fought Jones....

He got exposed when he lost to Tarver the first time. He never fought any opponents who wanted to beat him, everybody was afraid of him. For the first time Roy Jones showed his weakness and he can’t mix it up. He just tried to survive that fight, and he did…."
You know what the Truth is? The truth is that when a fighter loses everybody takes away all their previous accomplishments. According to 90% of boxing fans all fighters never faught anybody. Gatti's right, Roy isn't a brawler. Thats why Roy's face doesn't have a million stichs in it. Thats why Roy hasn't been smashed in the head a billion times like Gatti. And Gatti is full of it by saying Roy lost the first fight because he truley didn't. Gatti got exposed in his last fight remember? Floyd Mayweather beat his face in, bad time to talk trash about another fighter. By the way if you watched Roy's career he did mix it up with alot of fighters and won. Also isn't Roy past his prime? Didn't Roy take a chance by fighting Tarver a third time? Don't most great fighters lose it my their mid thirties? Yes.

This is beating a dead horse. Exactly what does being "exposed" mean to you? A fighter who has had his way in all of his fights then meets a guy who wasn't gonna back down gives him a concussion and a lopsided victory and almost knocking his @ss out again. Sounds alot like Douglas vs. Tyson to me(what were people saying then besides being the biggest upset in boxing history...Tyson was exposed), only Tarver wasn't a mediocre fighter like Douglas who in my opinion had all the physical tools but a classic underachiever

Douglas was mediocre after the Tucker fight, but before that he was a much better fighter than Tarver. Douglas had so much potential, his combinations flowed and his punches were clean, he was excellent.

Im surprised Gatti would say things like that. He sure as hell didn't look like a blood and guts warrior when he fought Floyd. He was scared to exchange cause, every time he would think about throwing he would eat a six punch combo. I respect Gattis heart, but hes out of line talking **** about Roy.
Gatti will never be on top, Roy was. Roy had something Gatti will never experience, skill. Boxing isnt all about heart. And like I said, Gatti never mixed it up with Floyd, or Oscar.

How many people call Gatti "greater than Sugar Ray Robinson"?

Pull your heads out of your ****ing asses, Roy Jones Jr is without doubt the most grossly over-rated fighter of all-time.

Gatti has a right to have his opinion. Just like everyone else.

                      Lets compare the 2 fighters.

                      Heart - Gatti wins
                      Chin - Gatti wins
                      Punching power - P4P even
                      skills - Roid wins
Ducking people - Roid wins "Gatti fought Mayweather & Oscar in his prime" Nuff said Everyone is ducking Mayweather right now, at least Gatti had the balls to fight PBF.

Roid beat 2 legends in Toney & Bitchkins. But never give any of them a rematch, while he could've had big pay days fighting guys like Toney & Bitchkins again, instead he went on fighting bums, until he got exposed.

The reason Roid fought Toney is, becuase Toney was the big name at that time, so if Jones never fought Toney, he would've never been called great. Toney had to lose like 20 pounds in 2 days, also Toney was going through some personal problems during the Jones fight. Toney has looked like **** against some bums before & the Toney that fought Jones was not Toney we all knew.

As for Bitchkins fight, it was close boring fight. Actually Bitchkins thought he won the fight against Roid, but he changed his mind after he lost to Taylor. Bitchkins was very green during the Jones fight, no one knew who the **** Bitchkins is at that time. Bitchkins started his career late. Anyone seen Bitchkins earlier fights, can tell that the older Bitchkins is the much better & smarter boxer. Roid would've never beaten Bitchkins of today. I saw that boring fight, I had trouble deciding who won the fight. it could've been a draw. Bitchkins beat the crap out of the undefeated Glen Johnson, if Bitchkins fights Johnson today, he will beat the crap out of Johnson.

Roid speed & skills was always overrated in my opinion. Roid had alot of power when he was fighting in the lower weights, boxers never really took the chance of attacking Jones, the way Johnson did. When I talk about the great skilled fighter I think about Whiatker, Sugar Ray & Mayweather.

Many great boxers lost to younger boxers when they got older. But Roid lost to 2 people that is actually a little older then Roid. No excuses Roid fans, sorry but the guy is one of the most overrated boxers in history,
