Could be said for just about every one of Floyd's opponents.

uhhhhhh floyd mayweather is fighting victor ortiz. and then maybe manny pacquiao.

STEROIDGIO MARTINEZ is fighting Barker the Goat Farmer. so don't even bother w/ these magical hypothetical matchups. if MARAVAGINA wanted a challenge, he would b fighting a legit fighter-- not another eurobum goat farmer.

Barring any knockdowns I just have a VERY hard time seeing Sergio land more scoring punches than Floyd. Thoughts?
I dont see why not. Remember we're talking about a guy that's more active, just as fast hand and foot wise, bigger, longer, etc.

Sure slower, smaller, easily discouraged guys haven't come close to outpointing floyd.

Sergio is not that. Plus a kd or ko is not out of the question, he almost went down from a straight right from Shane. floyd could get a kd on sergio as well, who is subject to flash kd's.

When was the last time Floyd fought someone bigger, more powerful, yet slick and fast while a lefty to boot?

Zab Judah. Terrible example but just answering your question.

Judah was not stronger than Mayweather, not more powerful. Yes, he has one punch KO power but he wasn't more powerful, wasn't stronger, isn't slick. Terrible comparison so I'm glad you know . Floyd has never fought anyone like Martinez.

The ko can happen, credit to Floyd if he last, which I doubt he will. But yes Martinez can outpoint Floyd. He's just as fast, bigger, stronger & has amazing ring IQ.

Completely agreed, and the same goes the other way. I feel like Sergio would try to box Floyd, and I can't see him beating Floyd in a boxing match, just not the way you beat Mayweather.

                    Yes it is,Jab isn't bigger,or more powerful.
No need to harp on this at all because it just isn't relative to our discussion. But yes Zab was bigger on fight night when they fought from a weight stand point, and I would absolutely say he has better one punch power than Floyd. We can agree to disagree.

Like I said to ImDazed though, I think Sergio would try to box Floyd and I just don't see him beating Floyd in a boxing match.

I think Martinez is absolutely the most difficult matchup of anyone Floyd could face. If he adjusted a few things ie, keep his hands high, utilize the jab more, and be much more physical I think he could be an even worse matchup for Floyd. If he goes in and just tries to box him though I think he's playing right into Mayweather's strength.

It's funny you say that because I remember everyone used to say the same about Roy Jones. You can't outbox him, you have to take it to him. Well...his career was marred by struggles against patient counterpunchers and it was a tall, powerful lefty counterpuncher that stripped him of his cloak of invincibility. Martinez won't have to box Floyd so much as Floyd would have to be the aggressor, giving Martinez all the openings he'll need.
