Come on now, keep it civil. It's been the first floyd/manny discussion in months that didn't make me want to rip my eyes out.

Not sure if that second remark was aimed at me, but feel free to browse my posting history. I've been quite negative towards both fighter.

And given everything going on with PEDs in all sports today, I'd be careful with what you're spewing if I were you. History was supposed to vindicate Mark McGwire and put jealous athletes like Canseco to shame.

Well GotDAMN!!!! I read every post in this thread, and I finally caught the **** up. There have been some great points made in this thread, too many to count actually. IMO Burner and Dazed and a couple others have been extremely spot on. Their views pretty much reflect my own.

BUT......................I didnt see anyone mention the additional blood testing that Manny wanted Shane to take, and once Shane said "Fine I'll take them, as long as Manny takes the same exact tests", Manny's camp recinded the contractual stipulation. It has been said that Floyd's request is unreasonable because it hasnt been done before. That is very wrong a couple of euro fighters have had said OST stipulations drawn up in previous bouts(So it HAS been done before). But lets look at the fact that Manny took a page out of Floyd's book in negotiations with Shane. Was that so that Manny could get out of the Shane fight????????? And why is it acceptable that Manny's demand for additional testing is ok but Floyd's is not. Lets put both fighters on an level playing field whilst discussing the previous power moves that both have made during negotiations.

To the average individual is given all the facts between the history of negotiations between these two fighters, I think they would be less inclined to side with ANY individual who refuses random testing for a $40million dollar payday. We got folks who work 9-5's that are subject to it for far less in take home pay.

2) elaborate more on these manny demands with shane because that's another piece of the puzzle that's helping floyd win this chessmatch IMO if all of that is true. this would be the second thing brought to my attention in this thread that could be added to my argument
3) point with floyd isn't that it wasn't asked for before by anyone, its the first time FLOYD asked for it before and it was against the most legitimate opponent floyd had considered fighting in 7 years....that's one of things that legitimately makes it appear shady.

That isn't necessarily true. Jeff Bagwell failed to get voted into the Baseball HoF based almost entirely on the fact that he played during the steroid era. There isn't one iota of evidence against him, he wasn't implicated in the Mitchell Report yet the su****ion is what kept him out of Cooperstown.

well first off, we've never really received proof that manny's agreed to everything. its all heresay, until we hear him publicly admit to agreeing on OST then I don't believe anything.

logically things make sense, its when we add real world perspective that things get cloudy.....this is a public battle with a lot of ego and reputation at stake, which means that using logic regarding the first ost request doesn't necessarily make sense....and I still think that any reasonable person at a negotiation table would know that manny and freddie would shoot down ost.

What do you honestly make of that statement? Was it made up? And if so who's responsible for the fabrication of it, if in fact it was a lie? Why would someone make up a lie about such a hot and serious issue in light of Manny's popularity?
