Yes...and I think the bottom line is...Floyd doesn't really care what people think. He's not trying to win a PR war. So even if you somehow think he's in a position to turn things around now...that has more to do with you and not him. He's been very consistent from day one. And obviously has his concerns about what fighters are using. If that's so much a problem for Manny then, well, he's shown he has no issues moving on. I'm just thankful at least one of them is seeking out challenges.
Floyd has turned the tables on Manny in their chessmatch

No it's not because I can easily say that Floyds mouth backed him into a corner he couldn't get out of without being able to look bad.
It's the same reason he wanted testing on Mosley and says he wants testing from now on. It's because of his demands on Manny, he has backed himself into that corner now.
Where was this concern in his previous 40 fights? I'm just saying I don't buy his crusade on PED's, sorry I don't. I know you do but you are coming at it from a pro Floyd stance.
Doesn't matter, either way Floyd has a lot more to lose in not making this fight, believe that. History will NOT look kindly on Floyd not making this fight for WHATEVER reason.Comment

Wow has NSB just had an actual somewhat gentlemanly and intelligent discussion regarding Pac/Floyd? I'm impressed!Comment

the gtfo because that's the entire point of the thread. not to get into a discussion that's been done to death. and you really think floyd doesn't care what people think about him? floyd's cries out for acceptance all the time, you just can't see itYes...and I think the bottom line is...Floyd doesn't really care what people think. i am also happy that floyd is seeking out fights people actually want to see against credible opponents.Comment

That's your opinion. History is a funny thing. Let's just say, it won't get written now. And given everything going on with PEDs in all sports today, I'd be careful with what you're spewing if I were you. History was supposed to vindicate Mark McGwire and put jealous athletes like Canseco to shame. No it's not because I can easily say that Floyds mouth backed him into a corner he couldn't get out of without being able to look bad.

floyd could make history speed up in this situation. if he drops the demands, the only thing manny could do to save face would be to agree to OST voluntarily IMO.Comment

if Floyd cared as much as Manny cared he'd be waging a PR war himself. Even during the presser yesterday, I sat right there as he told everyone, write what you want...just respect me because my kids are old enough to read now. So I don't know about Floyd "crying out for acceptance." Maybe a few years ago but it's obvious he's matured quite a bit since his return in 2009. I think he's doing just fine, regardless of what pseudo-psychiatrists on NSB think. Just saying.the gtfo because that's the entire point of the thread. not to get into a discussion that's been done to death. and you really think floyd doesn't care what people think about him? floyd's cries out for acceptance all the time, you just can't see it

Absolutely. But that don't take away from the fact that he is probably very concerned with Manny actually cheating.
Before he became a star, he hardly had to worry about it.Where was this concern in his previous 40 fights? I'm just saying I don't buy his crusade on PED's, sorry I don't. I know you do but you are coming at it from a pro Floyd stance.
Floyd doesn't want to clean up the sport. He just wants to clean up Manny so that he can beat him with lesser effort. Hes obviously very impressed with Mannys abilities at 147+, and feels legitimate in his accusations.
This is true. No matter what, Floyds legacy is NOT what it could have been. I even think we are overestimating his legacy when we put him top40 atg.Doesn't matter, either way Floyd has a lot more to lose in not making this fight, believe that. History will NOT look kindly on Floyd not making this fight for WHATEVER reason.
Floyd needs to change this momentum in the sunset of his career if he wants the respect his skills deserves from boxing history.Comment
