Floyd has turned the tables on Manny in their chessmatch

Yeah Floyd has lost the PR battle but it's pretty obvious he wasn't as intent on winning it as the other guy. And by doing so, he's coming out looking cleaner and cleaner.

When they have tried to win the PR battle they have been very effective. If floyd had stayed out of trouble they might have won even without trying. But floyd is floyd.

No it won't and this is a leap in logic and nothing but speculation. The fight between Floyd and Ortiz has ZERO bearing on the perception of the Manny and Floyd fight.

Floyd has already alienated himself with his nonsensical talk and Manny is playing it smart by keeping quiet.

Bottom line is, Floyd will beat Ortiz and the pro Floyd fans will say it was a great win and a much better fighter than anyone Pac has recently fought.

Pro Manny fans will say Ortiz was "exposed" as a bum the way they did Berto and it wont change anything.

Floyd has already lost the PR battle and the more he talks, the more he digs a deeper hole. That is why he's so conveniently taken on the role of "bad guy" that he claims to love so much, yet when his emotions come out, he so desperately wants to be loved, most egomaniacs do.

I think if he uses the win and changes his bullish approach and uses the charm offensive from that point forward, I'm thinking he can and will pull more casual fans to his side as he can turn Manny into the villan role if the press get on side and turn him into the good guy.
Total reverse of the situation....I'm just not sure Mayweather has the soft skills and PR skills to do this.

there is when your opponent is coming up from 135...how much did the 2-3 lbs over that jose luis castillo help him in the rematch vs corrales?

My point is its a lot easier to make 147 then 144. Floyd probaly couldn't make 144 all along but needed the catchweight to sell the fight. (Probably the real reason they moved it back so floyd would have a better chance of making 144)

So they put in the weight penalty and give Marquez $600k for an asswhoppin. Yeah its grimey and crappy.

Not trying to flame it out in here, just have an adult discussion.

There's so mich to type, so im going to start with my main point.

1) manny had a psychological edge in the beginning because floyd looked scared by forcing ost. Regardless of what fools who cant comprehend the big picture think, this is how the move was percieved and perception is reality. It doesnt take a genius to spin that story.

2) rumors circulate that manny agreed to floyds Demands with a cut off date, but its all heresay because they never made azhuge deal about it or publicly said (manny himself) that they would do anything to get floyd in the ring. This began to make manny look weak imo.

3) he continues to look weak by fighting arum retreads who have no business being in ppv's with manny.

4) floyd swoops in and fights the best ww not named floyd or manny and takes on a young gun who's hungry and badass at 147 while manny fights a
dude floyd shut out that is alreAdy probably fighting one weight class to high at lw. So he's a minimum of 2 weght classes out of his league.

All that adds up to floyd outplaying manny and bob. Bob was content to just take advantage of manny's fans and his reputation while floyd was biding his time and waiting to pull a checkmate type move.

Who the *** is manny gonna fight if he and floyd win? Khan is trained by roach so floyd has him. I guess its gonna have to be bradley who looked as out of place at ww as hatton did to me when he moved up. We know neither floyd nor manny is going to even glance in sergio's direction, so there's no one at 154.

This was where Bob was brilliant. He has made "not fighting floyd mayweather jr" a measuring stick for determining greatness in a completely bizarre way. I mean Cotto, Marg, Clottey,Williams, Manny, Martinez are all given points because they didn't fight floyd.

No he wouldn't. In fact, most people would crow that he was never serious about it to begin with. But given what's occured over the past year and change, it's quite obvious he's dead serious about it.

wrong, all floyd has to do is say that, "I'm only dropping my demand because everyone wants to see us fight, I will be returning to my OST crusade immediately after the pac fight because I no longer want to hold the public up from a fight that the public wants to see. you just don't want to open your mind...stop crying, all these floyd fans that say "anything floyd does, everyone will complain about" are so fn short sighted. floyd has given people plenty reasons to shi t on him in the past, PLENTY, but there are plenty of things he can do that will garner him props from everyone.

Well, I just think you are taking a huge leap in thinking that the public will somehow turn against Pac.

Have you seen Pac talk, sing, dance and in interviews? He's the most lovable guy in the world. I was telling my wife that it's almost impossible to hate the guy, he has the same level of appeal DLH had in his prime, the only difference was DLH was more universal because of his command of the language.

Sorry man, I believe that Floyd can better the situation but I don't think he can reverse it and to be honest, i don't think he even wants to at this point. He understands he is wearing the black hat in all of this, he may not like it deep down but he understands it's on his head.
