Canelo fighting "Euro bums"

Ryan Rhodes is a solid pro, not a bum. Its ***ing ****** calling these kind of fighters bums and anyone who knows boxing or has some real connection to it and knows what kind of life fighters have, wouldnt say that at all.

This place is full of idiots, pricks who have probably never even seen a live fight,let alone had one, yet feel its fine to call people with REAL balls 'bums'.

There are so many people on here who just jump to lazy, uninformed assumptions. Canelo's last 2 opponents have been European, therefore he only fights "Eurobums." Why bother checking the facts if an easy assumption can be made instead? Rhodes earned his title shot. Sadly he wasn't up to the task, but that doesn't make him a bum.

At his age Canelo is being moved along just fine. The problem even though it is no fault of his own was the bs belt that Golden Boy and the WBC gave to him which will raise expectations and have fight fans losing patience if he is moved along the right way.

like i told another poster in another thread, last night was my first impression of Rhodes...as were most of the US viewers and im sure yourself included

i didnt sit there and allow what his record showed to dictate my opinion of him


i saw the same Canelo that got rocked by Cotto's little brother, who i dont consider a big puncher, eating Rhodes' shots like they were lovetaps

I've seen a number of Ryan Rhodes fights, and he has reasonable, albeit slightly overrated punching power. He's not a world class fighter, but nor is he a bum. He's certainly a more accomplished fighter than Matthew Hatton for instance. I didn't share the optimism of many here who thought he had a realistic chance at stopping Alvarez, but this is nonetheless
one of Canelo's more impressive performances. Rhodes was gunshy, largely due to the power and accuracy of his opponent.

Rhodes isn't the best fighter in the world and although Top 10 at 154 he was certainly out his league with Canelo. But, he isn't feather fisted.

Before you ask, I have been watching him since 1995.

As for Rhodes hes european level at best and i never gave him a chance at winning this fight.. him and Hatton are good steady quality opponents there not bums but by no means are the tp 10 fighters!

On a side note I don't giver barker much chance against Martinez.... Martinez is a beast!
