That's a really dumb way to assess a fighter's punching power. Forgetting the fact that Alvarez got caught very early against Cotto, Rhodes didn't put his punches together in a way that allowed him to make any impression on Canelo. The little he did land, he landed in single shots, and more often than not he didn't seem to throw with full conviction for fear of what was coming back. Cotto caught Canelo early, who was being a bit reckless in that first round. He was far from reckless against Rhodes.

Incidentally, Juan Diaz took Katsidis' punches well, but he was rocked by a shot from Malignaggi. So by your rationale, this means that Katsidis must have no power whatsoever.

eurobums are worse than ameribums or mexibums

Before you ask, I have been watching him since 1995.

Dan, im just gonna get to the bottom of my beef and say that they should stop matching Canelo with non-threats...which is what they've been doing for quite some time now...time for a litmus test IMO...someone like Angulo

if a fighter has shown 'decent' power against mediocre opposition but cant/wont use it in the biggest spotlight, then he might as well be featherfisted

my apologies to all the Ryan Rhodes fans that i might have offended by laughing at the 'threat' he brought to the table last night

I don't know why you're trolling these boards and spamming with your Canelo hate so much. Nobody is saying Rhodes was a great legacy defining win, but to say he's just some feather fisted bum is absurd. Canelo is only 20 freakin' years old!

Give the kid some slack... Everyone can't have a mega fight every time they get in the ring and I think he showcased some good skill last night... Looking forward to see him fight more in the future

I'm not even a big Canelo fan moron, I can just see what your blinded hatred won't allow you to. He's a 20 year old work in progress, it's not his fault he's this popular and the spotlight is already on him.

It's more your lack of a boxing brain that's offensive. But that's cool dude, apology accepted.
