And some posters on here had the nerve to say I be twisting the quotes when I post them on boxingscene? How can I twist the facts? Bob Arum is always letting his intentions be known out the gate. I guess when you're as old as he is. You just stop caring because as we are witnessing. People will buy his fights anyway.

This is exactly why everyone believes Arum is ruining boxing. Instead of letting a World Champion fight a tough fight, he thinks Ortiz should just fight a bunch of cupcakes and make easy money. He will make more for this one fight than most people will make in lifetime. If he looks decent, he will continue to make big bucks. If he wins, he is set for life.

The only "world champions" that need seasoning are the ones who didn't win their belts legitimately, i.e. Chavez, Alvarez, foreman... Ortiz beat an undefeated champion to win his belt. If he isn't ready now, he never will be.

IMO a fight with Martinez is equally as a fight with Pac. Can't go into a fight like that with out a tune-up. But if Ortiz is a tune up for Floyd it tells you where his skill level is

Lmao...just a few days ago, Ortiz was some left-handed monster that Floyd wouldnt dare face and now he inexperienced...lol. that is why I believe nothin arum says. It makes you wonder about the 100M, 75M, 65M, and 8M offers that Arum said Floyd wanted or refused. The truth comes to light always

i just hope ortiz would put on a big show even if he loses. because if it's going to be a one-sided fight for mayweather, ortiz will lose his potential to be a boxing star. he's a nice kid, speaks english well and has the latino fans behind him.

hardcore boxing fans and promoters think differently. boxing is a business and boxers fight to earn big money. i like this fight as a hardcore fan, but i can understand arum's points. ortiz could make bigger money if he gets big exposure in his next defense prior to a big money fight w/ pac or mayweather. as of now, hardcore fans are the only ones who know ortiz. but it's really hard to pass an opportunity like this.

wow arum is talking about whats good for boxing now??? how on earth does, margs, cotto, marquez at 38 yrs old, and oldsley against pacroid make any boxing sense?????everything he and pac peddles is garbage! ortiz will lose but at keast he a formidable opponent for fraud jr. unlike pacs last 7 fights, which from a boxing standpoint mean nothing.

Bob wouldn't put ANY of his fighters in with Floyd regardless of their experience level.

What's the bet the odds on Ortiz are less than 5 to 1?
How about all your points to 8 million of my points?

This will be just as lopsided, if not more, than Marquez vs Pacquiao.

Arum is a snake but this is the truth. He is actually praising floyd

Seriously who the fawk here thinks ortiz has chance.

Makes matter worse, Ortiz only fought at WW once and against someone who some/most thought was untested (Berto). Ortiz is a solid/okay fighter that needs polish before he can step into a ring with someone like floyd
