Arum would squeeze every last drop he could get from Ortiz.

I'll take this fight any day though, just take a look at Gamboa - he's on idle and he's also got star potential.

Arum is terrible for boxing. He basicall said that he didnt care about what boxing fans wanted when he made Pac-Mosely b/c a fight becomes a financial success when the casual sports fan buys it. Which is true, but there's a line, and Arum crosses it all the time.
Dibella is a great promoter who make tons of money for his fighters (Taylor, Malignaggi, Berto, Martinez, etc) but he genuinely cares about the sport. Arum doesn't.
Plus, If Ortiz loses the fight but wins a few rds, he will have helped his career, while making millions. He'll have raised his marketability and casual sports fans will know who he is. Unless he gets DESTROYED, this fight is a great move by Ortiz, and will help him even in a competitive loss. a win (which very unlikely, but possible) and forget about it, he's a superstar!
also, ask arum how it worked not "ruching" to make Lopez-Gamboa, and building that fight up

this also after everyone knew Moesly had 0% chance to win. Ortiz is a lot more "ready" than Mosely was for his fight.
        Arum has no shame!

I agree with Arum. Ortiz is not ready for someone like Floyd, but everyone knows he would not be saying that if Ortiz was fighting Manny next, lol.

Ortiz has a better chance of winning this fight than some of the guys Manny has fought.

Money is everything in boxing now if promoters can't get money from you they move on and left you scraping for scraps. Unless boxing gets rid of promoters you can't expect anything more from blood sucking maggots. But Arum still has a point Ortiz isn't ready promotional-wise. If you gave Ortiz more opportunities to build his market appeal you could still get money from him even if he loses to someone like Mayweather. Fans thinks Ortiz is ready just because Floyd picked him. Floyd picked him cause he's green and unproven that is all there is to it.
