Lets try to stay on topic now. Floyd fighting Ortiz has nothing to do with what Pac has done. What's your opinion on the thread topic?
You're re-written history. No one gave Mosley a chance in beating Pac. And, neither did Marg get any.

    Don't spread any lies.

Floyd-Ortiz is legit. It's not on the level of Pac-Cotto. But, it's the best we can get right now at WW.

Man, you are like all backwards right now. I know you don't post here often, so I understand you seem real lost. You sound like a horribly misinformed casual fan. No offense.
TS posted here pretty frequently leading up to Hatton Mayweather. He hugged Hatton hardcore. He disappeared after that and then popped up here and there when Pacquiao rose to dominance.

people make too much of this guy is fighting someone past prime , someone green , etc.

it's okay to use those things to weigh how good a victory it was.

but people use it to criticize people too much.

oh , he's fighting someone young and green.

oh , he's fighting someone old and past it.

people are born on different years , people start their careers at the different times , people's primes are at the different times.

ortiz may be young and inexperienced but he's one of the top fighters in the division.

if he wants the fight......if he feels he's ready for the fight......

        good for him.

and more importantly , good for his bank account.

I don't know of any neutral boxing fans that thought Margarito or Mosley were dangerous opponents for Pacquiao. But okay.

Ortiz beat the #3 WW, WBC champ Andre Berto so he got the #3 spot. Mosley performed horribly and was moved down, now Ortiz is #2. Meaning he's the second best WW.

Floyd could have picked Maidana or Guerrero, two other GBP fighters. He picked Ortiz and I like this fight rather than Mayweather coming back against a LW or JWW.

That's all there is to it.

The same Martinez who himself said that a fight with Pac is out the question because Pac is too small?

It's definitely a legit fight. But what I don't understand is why Floyd is being lauded for it. It's the kind of fight Floyd should be taking - not getting praised hugely for doing so. But I guess that's what happens when he and Pac are content to cherry pick, that we become grateful when they fight a live body.

I just wish Vic had a little more time at WW before taking on Floyd. I mean, let's not forget that before Berto fight, Ortiz's career was at a major cross-roads. He was going into a fight with Andre ****ing Berto as a major underdog, and now he's fighting Floyd Mayweather.

Yeah, I know who he is. If I am not mistaken, he's Puerto Rican? And he supposedly can't get back in his old account because he forgot his password, that is what he told me a long time ago.

I know in the Mayweather-Hatton times, he was biggin up Hatton, in the Cotto/Arum/Mayweather feud, he was bigging up Cotto, now he's a Pacquiao fan. He's just anti-Mayweather.

He's also racist, or at least has said a bunch of racist comments. Like one calling Floyd fans "A bunch of Black Panther rejects". He seemed to have calmed down now with his racism.

Stylistically, he has what it takes to beat Floyd. Ortiz is Castillo with punching power. And remember, that was a younger, faster Floyd who (at the smaller weight) also had more power. And lets not forget Roach's observation that Floyd's legs r gone... That hasn't been proven false

They werent great matchups, but who else out there besides Floyd would have been viewed as a legit fight for Pac? Who here is giving Ortiz much of a shot against Floyd?

Floyd on the other hand has options. He could have gotten serious about fighting Pac and had Haymon call Bob to try and set something up instead of just repeating that Pac needs to take the test in an attempt to look like he really wants the fight. He could have set up a fight with Martinez @ 154 who's been calling him out for months.
who wrote pac off against marg? we knew he would carve marg up like a pumkin into a jack o'lantern. simply b.c we know marg wasnt the same after the beating shane gave him and his suspension
