Yeah, well he still pays more attention to it than anyone on ESPN. Did ESPN pay any attention to Hopkins? No. Rome was right there with Hopkins on his t.v. show, radio show pre fight and post fight and spent a few good segments talking about the fight before it happened. Who on the radio or on tv is going to do that? No one.

Rome may say a lot of ****, its his job to talk about whats popular but he is still a boxing fan first.

Paying a little more attention than his other ESPN colleagues is not a complement. In 2011, currant boxing he knows shit. Good for his 90's and back knowledge, but that does not cut it.

But its whatever, no big deal.

He doesn't know that Ortiz/Mayweather is a great fight. Your point about Mayweathers interview might be right. It certainly could of rubbed him the wrong way.
Ortiz-Mayweather isnt a great fight, its an ok one.

Exactly, people spouting **** off about rome have obviously no idea what they re talking about.

Jim Rome is a known clown anyways
          thats espn's troll
By ur comment I think its pretty safe to say u have zero idea what ur talking about. Rome backed floyd up on his drug test demands. He also said he thinks floyd would take pac if they ever fought. Not to mention he s had floyd on boy his shows like twenty times. He ****ted on pac mosley saying "tens of people" would watch it. Just because he says one bad thing about floyd or a fight doesn't mean he's not a boxing fan. Its called having an opinion, that's what he gets paid to do.

He interviews some boxers infrequently, big whup. He also jumped on the boxing is dying bandwagon which is just as bad as any of the talking heads on ESPN.

He also loves the UFC, which is fine (they sponsor his show so no surprise), but this dude 5 years ago was calling for MMA to be banned. Typical loud mouth sports 'personality'.
So if anyone ever says anything that's even slightly critical of floyd mayweather or a fight he's involved in, that instantly means they are not a boxing fan, or at least a "hard core" boxing fan...right.

Id really like to know what u have to do to be a "hard core" boxing fan. Does that mean u can never under any circumstances watch and enjoy mma? Do u have to troll message boards for hours on end engaging in the ever important "***** vs *******" cival war? The man has followed sports and boxing longer then half the posters on here have been alive. He is a boxing guy and would probably school u on any subject related to sports including boxing.

Roger mayweather said he never follows boxing and can't even name any of the big fighters out there, does he know what he s talking about, or is he nt "hard core" either?

If Max Kellerman said it was a GOOD fight, then it must be a GOOD fight.

I don't care about Jim Rome

I don't really pay attention to too much ESPN guys say. Mayweather-Ortiz is a good fight.

You can tell when fanboys are butthurt. They almost always bring up the "they're not boxing fans" nonsense. As if you have to be a boxing fan to see who is ducking and who is not. It's not even like this is not a pattern for Floyd.

As for uncle Roger, Floyd Sr also mentioned in one of his ramblings that he doesn't know many of the boxers today. Reminds me also of that European boxer who was in Morales/Maidana undercard. He doesn't know which guy is Erik.

                      Because, people are fan boys.

If you don't praise every single thing Floyd or Pac say. Then these bitchass fans get offended.
