Then he dared ask him a tough question once about how he could really think he was the GOAT and floyd responded with something like "opinions are like ass holes, everyones got one and they all stink".

After that I think jim lost a lot of respect for him. It wasn't like a loaded question either, money just handled it all wrong.

I'm glad though, I'm a big rome fan and I can't stand floyds antics.
Yeah the History between Floyd and ROme is what makes this so shocking. Him and Floyd were buds, and Rome always stuck up for him even supporting the drug tests.

Floyd just lost his last mainstream bridge.

Rome follows boxing more then the average espn talking head. I like when I see some boxing talk on espn, even if I disagree with it we need all the love we can get. It's pretty sad when golf, nascar, slobs shoving wet hot dogs down their throats, and every other lame ass sport gets 100 times more play then the sweet science. If I see one more spelling bee on espn I'm gonna punch someone in the face...

It's pretty funny how amped up every mainstream reporter is about Pac-May match but they literally don't watch any other fights. Rome might watch maybe a handful a year at best.

No one that I know of, hard core fan or not, thinks ortiz stands much of a chance.
Well that's part of the reason Rome is dogging. Rome used to be a big time boxing fan but I wouldn't consider him much more a casual fan now. He doesn't know that Ortiz/Mayweather is a great fight. Your point about Mayweathers interview might be right. It certainly could of rubbed him the wrong way.

Nah Rome is actually better know for his radio show, his tv show on espn is small potatos. As I said rome and floyd used to be tight, till floyd starting saying he was better then ali and sugar ray and all that. Rome is a boxing guy and when he asked him about it floyd freaked and responded with some bull****. Rome does more interviews about boxing on a national scale then most radio talking heads, he's a good dude. Not everyone is gonna be down with floyds antics, u do realize this right?

Rome is not a bobblehead for ESPN, not at all. You can say that about a lot of people on ESPN, but certainly not Rome. Romes always been cutting edge and never one to just follow something because it's the new in thing. He's nothing like the garbage that they show on ESPN.

The fight will sell big. People......Even casual fans want to see him fight anybody. ESPN is the worst place for boxing news. I bet he couldnt tell you anything about Ortiz.
