Zags is a great fighter. You can try to discredit himif you must but results dont lie. He beat Bhop, Jones and was the first to beat Kessler. Sure its a few more fights he could have taken but I'm proud of him for not letting the sport retire him. As we see the Roy Jones route is a very sad one.

Hopkins loses from Taylor and Calzaghe are all Disputed. I think Hopkins won one of the Taylor fights and to me i think he won the Calzaghe fight with clean crisp punching. Calzaghe was just throwing garbage punches hitting his arms 90 percent of the time.

Maybe, but lets not forget that in terms of a direct result (ie Hopkins VS Calzaghe) Calzaghe won.

Lets also not forget that losses have a significant affect on a fighter's legacy. Calzaghe has none, BHOP has 5, two of which were to Jermain Taylor. His losses take the lustre of his career by quite a margin.

He should only have one loss if truth be told and Calzaghe should have two including the one to Robin Reid.

That may have been true,IF JC beat Hopkins decisively. But the truth is that the fight was close & could have gone either way.

With that logic Jermaine Taylor's legend should grow. He beat a younger version of Hopkins more impressively than Calzaghe did. Twice.

I don't see how Calzaghe looks better on account of what Hopkins has achieved since they fought. I don't see how Hopkins looks any better either. They fought and Hopkins lost because Calzaghe was a better boxer.
No amount of rationalising favoring one or the other will change that. Joe Calzaghe was better than Hopkins end of story.

I disagree. The fight wasn't that great, and I actually thought Hopkins won. They should've had a rematch.

yeah, this does nothing for calzaghe, only makes him look like a guy who ran from a rematch with hopkins...........

he eeked out a SD win, which was highly disputed, then avoids a rematch like the plague, citing that it was a boring fight, which it wasn't, then he goes on to have a REAL boring fight with roy jones, and then retires, when in reality there is unsettled business to dealt with in a rematch with hopkins and joe prefers to retire and do ******* with dr rockso the rockin roll clown, who does *******. ............
