this is true. keep owning that ****** he has no clue what he's talking about. just a teenage fanboy trying to defend his worthless sport that no one watchestheir leather helmet stage were during their black box everybody fights in one night no weight classes days. & brock lesner had high test scores for making the vikings?
wtf?
As for its sport & its potential upside, well you had cotoure vs james toney, then you had gina carrano losing, the kimbo slice fiasco, & your one star that was closest to mainstream recognition, chuck liddel is done. GSP & Spider Silva are NON EN****** in terms of mainstream recognition in the U.S.
Again, sports is a star driven league. UFC/MMA does not have a proper model unlike boxing in producing talent.Comment

Imagine all the talent in the UFC being controlled mostly by two different promotors. then imagine if those two promotors refused to never work with each other again. im surprised that boxing is still as big as it is with what Arum and De La Hoya are doing to the fans by engaging in this cold war.Comment

What other organization could go from begin bankrupt in 2004 to selling out soccer stadiums by 2008?
Still a long way to go, but so far the rise of MMA/UFC is nuts, absolutely nuts. They weren't even allowed to have their events aired until 2002-3! The only way you could watch their events was by renting the DVD's.Comment

lol.. what you describe as their "leather helmet" stage can't even be considered mma. It was organized streetfighting performed by mostly horrible athletes. It was a spectacle.
James Toney vs Couture was a big fight? Really? As for its sport & its potential upside, well you had cotoure vs james toney, then you had gina carrano losing, the kimbo slice fiasco, & your one star that was closest to mainstream recognition, chuck liddel is done. GSP & Spider Silva are NON EN****** in terms of mainstream recognition in the U.S.
Gina Carrano, while popular for a female fighter, was never considered a star in mma. There was some interest, but meh.
Kimbo lol.. i guess he was a phenomenon, but it was mostly a circus.
You are right about Silva, and i think GSP is a bigger name in the US than any boxer currently fighting not named Manny or Floyd.
Brock Lesnar is also a big mainstream name.
The thing about UFC also is that the brand itself sells. People tune in to watch UFC, because of their brand and their work hyping up the fights.
Which model is that? The olympics?Again, sports is a star driven league. UFC/MMA does not have a proper model unlike boxing in producing talent.
I think their model is just fine. 24/7 style documentaries for the biggest fights, a reality show developing new talents and a hype-show for every single card.Comment

Its cause the depth of boxing is ten times that of MMA.Imagine all the talent in the UFC being controlled mostly by two different promotors. then imagine if those two promotors refused to never work with each other again. im surprised that boxing is still as big as it is with what Arum and De La Hoya are doing to the fans by engaging in this cold war.Comment

even if you cut your estimates in half you are wrong by about a factor of 10.
I could stand you, and debate with you if you only were clueless. Now you combine it with a ****ty attitude, and it just feels like a waste of time.Comment
