And, I think people need to stop overreacting to a win against a guy who has lost 2 out of his last 3 fights and done absolutely nothing at 168.

Ward has one good win, just one good win and that was against Kessler. And, that's it. After that it has been solid wins against AA, Bika, and Green. Nothing to really brag about. Bute has solid wins as well against Berrio, Andrade, Bika.

The Kessler win is what makes me rank Ward ahead of Bute. Because, the rest of their resume is pretty equal maybe Bute has the edge on the rest of the resume. The Kessler win is what puts Ward over the top IMO.

I think Ward would beat the living hell out of Dirrell. I think Ward is just mentally stronger, Dirrell is too mentally weak to me. I think Dirrell is much much more talented than what Ward is and I don't even think that's debatable. Matter of fact I don't know if there is any other boxer above WW that is just as talented as Dirrell. However, mentally I'm not sure he strong enough to ever truly be an elite fighter. He might end up like another Zab Judah.

i must spread some rep around again.

it's totally out of hand jro. ive seen great posters fawning like schoolgirls. ward is about to be the best smw ever and all that. i just don't see it.

i think ward has big problems if the road warrior beats froch or against bute. say what you want about bute's comp, but he has 2 great equalizers. power and southpaw, AND he's a good boxer.

i wasn't all that impressed with ward's speed last night and he doesn't have barely any real power or heavy hands.

i agree with this, its exactly what I was thinking after I typed my last respones to you. such a shame too because I thought dirrell was the most impressive boxer in the tourney by far. he was steadily improving a ton as well compared to his espn fnf fight that was a snoozefest and earned his the "gazelle" nickname. I can't remember who he fought right at this second and I don't feel like looking it up.

I dont like that being used as an excuse. Its a round robin tourney. You will end up fighting a guy who lost in the tourney it will happen. Its the way the tourney is set up to get multiple match ups with the various fighters.

Kessler, AA, Bika, Green is nothing to sneeze at. Kessler and Abe would be the best fighters on Butes resume imo. I cant really take him serious right now Magee, Mendy, Brinkley, Miranda. Those dudes in the S6 are working their butts off including AA who just fought Taylor, Dirrell, Froch and Ward back to back to back. Bute is fighting Jean Paul Mendy.

I do have Ward>>>Bute now. But, the Bute has wins just as good if not better than the Abraham win for Ward. However, I agree Bute has no win better than the Kessler win.

Abraham was a world champion and unbeaten at 160. I would say that's better than anything Andrade has done. I also can't see Abraham losing to Aaron Pryor Jr.

Berrio has been stopped twice and his overall competition is not even close to Abraham's. Abraham has never been stopped.

Not to mention Andrade basically stopped Bute.

Well considering the 168 division has a very shallow history anyone who says that Ward can be the greatest 168 pounder ever isnt far off at all.

                  He will be.

this is pretty much true burner, but remember that bute beat bika and there's no one else for bute to fight at 168. plus bute would fight kess but he needs tuneups and whatnot.

please tell me what in abe's resume at 168 makes him better than bika? who did he beat? taylor? who did he beat at 168 worth a damn?

I noticed Bute supporters never want to include that.
