It's quite possible Pac-Martinez-Marquez are all getting on in age, nonito is still gonna be there and gamboa who is ludacris speed fast and w/a little more seasoning is P4P the most naturally gifted, I expect big things from Chad Dawson this year if the manny steward experiment works i rate him above ward.Just to name a few, if ward wins the S6 he'll make his way closer to the top I think he'll lose eventually though SMW is too deep. But if he does somehow make it it'll be similar to when RJJ lost @ Hopkins was next in line despite Mayweather being better P4P somebody'll lose and have to move down
    TOP 5 P4P
    PACQUIAO
    MARTINEZ
    DONAIRE
    MARQUEZ
    GAMBOA

    Honorable Mention....... Chad Dawson

i think ward has big problems if the road warrior beats froch or against bute. say what you want about bute's comp, but he has 2 great equalizers. power and southpaw, AND he's a good boxer.

i wasn't all that impressed with ward's speed last night and he doesn't have barely any real power or heavy hands.
Ward has very good speed. Hes not as fast as Dirrell but hes up there as far 168 pounders go. His hands can fly bro.

And he doesnt need real power or heavy hands. What he lacks in power he makes up for it in timing and accuracy. You dont need hard KO power to be a beast.

        He will be.
so can bute/froch/glen johnson/kessler/or a ton of other people.

ward has beaten kessler (cuz hois style was perfect for it) and a bunch of b level guys at 168. and he hasn't done some any more impressively than anyone else. as a matter of fact, glen johnson, bute, and froch (vs abe) have looked far better against common opponents

Bute has a seemingly impressive record of 28-0 with 23 KO's. Wins over Andrade 2x, Bika, and Miranda.

Ward also has an impressive record, with less pro experience. Beating a 1 year younger[than when he fought Bute] Edison Miranda, with only 18 pro fights.

With only 24 pro fights under his belt, Ward's resume is:

          Edison Miranda
          Mikkel Kessler
          Allan Green
          Sakio Bika
          Arthur Abraham

That's pretty impressive that at the age of 27, you have 5 good names on your resume. Not too many 27 year olds can say that. Actually Joe Calzaghe can barely say that.

By the end of this year, Ward will possibly have 6 notable opponents in his Win column, and that's gonna be Froch/Johnson.

He's accomplished more than the 31 year old Lucian Bute has. Who, speaking of hometown fights, has had virtually his whole career fighting in Quebec, Canada, but his fans don't say anything about that, but then they talk about Ward. Ward has never been in trouble with any opponent as bad as Bute was with Andrade.

i thought he didn't look that fast last night.

quick aside: i also think manny looked super slow vs shane compared to past fights, especially footspeed.

it could be a one fight thing.

you need some power to be #1 pfp or the best at any division ever if you don't have blinding handspeed. personally, i think ward better be rooting for froch next month.

please tell me what in abe's resume at 168 makes him better than bika? who did he beat? taylor? who did he beat at 168 worth a damn?
I think Bute can fight. Hes strong , has some boxing skills and hits like a truck I just wish we could see it vs some top guys.

I know guys are tied up in the tourney but I think Bute should atleast try to reach out for a Johnson fight(before he jumped int he tourney), or a Pavlik, Steiglitz maybe?

I cant wait unitl the tourney is over because Im ready to see fights like:

Bute vs Ward, Ward vs. Dirrell, etc.

I can't remember who he fought right at this second and I don't feel like looking it up.
I think you talking about he fight against one of the chin checkers Curtis Stevens where Dirrell just basically ran all night. It was horrible to watch.

He fought a guy who lost his last 2 fights in the tourney. The only reason he only lost 2 out of his last 3 fights. Is because he fought an absolute bum who got injured in some weird way early in the fight as a tune up.

Kessler, AA, Bika, Green is nothing to sneeze at. Kessler and Abe would be the best fighters on Butes resume imo. I cant really take him serious right now Magee, Mendy, Brinkley, Miranda. Those dudes in the S6 are working their butts off including AA who just fought Taylor, Dirrell, Froch and Ward back to back to back. Bute is fighting Jean Paul Mendy.[/QUOTE]

What has AA done at 168 to make him a better win than Berrio, Bika, and Andrade? KO Taylor, KO Miranda, beat a bum? WTF had Miranda and taylor done at 168 to make AA impressive in that division?

If AA, Bika, and Green "is nothing to sneeze at" then neither is Bika, Berrio, and Andrade. Hell the latter might be more impressive than the former TBH.

Again the only thing that puts Ward over the top is the Kessler win.

After Ward gets exposed he might become a good gatekeeper but nothing more, he will never top the p4p list hes not even the best fighter at 168!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....I get it, so what you done in one division counts for another division as well...

He was coming off 2 solid wins over Steigletz and Mack. AA doesn't have a win at 168 better than those 2 wins.

But, I get it we going to count his MW reign as if he has been as impressive at 168 as he was at 160
