It doesn't matter that he comes to the ring above 140. Weighing at above 140 is completely different.

An example used earlier was Arturo Gatti who came to fights at 160 at times. That doesn't mean he can weigh in at that weight and be the same. It's completely different.

Too much though into weight classes?? Sorry? They are there for a very good reason.

The problem is Pac can happily weigh in at 144 and be as strong as a bull and as fast as lightning. JMM on the other hand, will be the polar opposite. Like he has already shown when he weighed in at 142.

Pac has the advantage because he is a WW now. JMM isn't.

The fact is, JMM has only ever weighed in above 140 once in his career and that time he looked terrible physically. Mainly because he was a blown up light weight. He went straight back down to 135 for a reason.

Against Pac, it will be no different. He will be a blown up Lightweight weighing in as a Welterweight. I don't know why we are chosing to forget JMM has weighed in at 142 before and looked dreadful. That is a fact.

That's all there it to it.
Where does it say, or where have you read that JMM MUST weigh in above 140 or at the 144 catweight? Secondly, even if he does have to weigh in above 140, all that means is that he doesnt have to train to cut weight or dehyrdrate himself. Make the weight, and not have to worry about stuffing your face and drinking gallons of water within a 24hr span in order to come in at a weight that you're use to coming in regardless.

Of course he doesn't have to. But then Pac would be weighing in at 144 fighting someone who is literally a lightweight. Which is equally as unlegit.

If he does weigh in above 140 it means exactly what it did last time.....That physically, he will be terrible.

But for some reason you are ignoring this.

No matter what way you look at it, there is no justification for anyone fighting Marquez when he weighs in above 140.

No matter how much you sugar coat it.

I fully understand it. Most fighters dehydrate and starve themselves in order to compete at lower weightclasses in order to gain an advantage by bulking up after the weigh in. In this case, JMM doesnt have to dehydrate or starve himself. He can train and not worry about cutting unneccesary lbs. He's going to come into the fight weighing 144-145 regardless. He would come in weighing that even if the fight was being held at 135 or 140. His history proves it.

Easy solution. Weigh in at 135 then bulk up to 144-145 like he normally does. What's the problem? Fact remains that neither fighter will have a weight advantage come fight night. If Marquez feels weighing in above 140 is going to hinder his performance, then he shouldnt weigh in that high. Its quite simple.

JMM clearly isn't one of those fighters though. Considering when he did weigh in above 140 he looked terrible and instantly moved back down 2 weight classes.

History proves when he comes to the ring at above 140 he is ok. History also tells us when Arturo Gatti comes to the ring at 160 he is ok. However if he were to weigh in at 160 for a midleweight fight he would look terrible.

History also proves when he weights in above 140, he looks terrible. And that's a fact.

smh...thats not at all how it goes. sure u have to starve sometimes to make weight. but fighting in a higher weight brakect does not always equate to an easier training camp. why do u think fighters that move up usually hire conditioning coaches? its because its not as easy a transition as u think. when fighters "kill themselves" (which i dont think is at all what jmm does to get down to 135) they get their body in the best shape to fight in the weight class they feel most comfortable. fighting in a different weight brackcet mean different considerations. i.e. learnimg how to make your, speed, reflexes, power etc. translate at a higher weight class. jmm tried it once. he failed miserably at getting it to transfer.

Once again, he's not being forced to weigh in above 140.

You have to be joking. Weigh in at 135? Seriously?

Neither fighter will have the weight advantage on fight night but JMM will be a blown up Lightweight and Pacqiauo will be a full fleged WW. Where are you getting lost.

Both fighters will come in above 140. We know that. But the problem with that is; one is a WW whilst the other is a Lightweight. Marquez competes at Lightweight and has done for the past 2 years after he jumped up for a reason.

For God's Sake, how are you not understanding that?
