Marquez has only ever weighed in above 140 once in his career. And coinsidentally, he looked terrible. Not only that, but after the fight, he admittedly that the fact that he weighed in over 140, was a big problem for him.
The same thing applies whoever he fights and he weighs in over 140. No matter what weight he came to the ring at.
That's all there is to it. No if's or but's.Last edited by Deevel916; 05-10-2011, 09:17 PM.

Which fights did he weigh in above 140?
Except for the one where he looked terrible physically and admitted that was due to the fact he weighed in above 140?
There is no defending this fight man. JMM doesn't belong above 140. It is what it is.

People are giving too much thought into weight classes. If both fighters are are practically the same weight come fight time, what's the problem? How does Pac have an advantage if they're going to be the same weight come fight time? JMM comes into his fights weighing in the low to mid 140's regardless. Dont worry. Pac isnt going to pull a Floyd and try and beat JMM on the scales.

First of all PBF dominates JMM at any weight. JMM's style is terrible for taking on PBF.
Secondly, it seems incredibly unlikely to me that "Money" Mayweather would lose $600k in order to weigh in at 146 if he was only going to gain two pounds the next night. He must have come in over 150 if he didn't want to just lose two pounds more.

when did fight night weight mean the same thing as weigh in weight?? jmm would weigh in at 135 and blow up 10lbs overnight...
manny has never weighed more then 150 on fight night so he will be a WW like marquez, only a couple pounds more. should be an exciting fight, but i don't see marquez winning no matter what. i don't see manny stopping marquez, and vice versa, and i don't see the judges picking anyone over manny in a fight besides floyd. marquez will either get blown out or will get the same decision as the second fight, either way, manny isn't losing this fight. this 3rd fight should've happened a couple years ago tbh, still looking forward to jmm giving it his all.

It doesn't matter that he comes to the ring above 140. Weighing at above 140 is completely different.
An example used earlier was Arturo Gatti who came to fights at 160 at times. That doesn't mean he can weigh in at that weight and be the same. It's completely different.
Too much though into weight classes?? Sorry? They are there for a very good reason.
The problem is Pac can happily weigh in at 144 and be as strong as a bull and as fast as lightning. JMM on the other hand, will be the polar opposite. Like he has already shown when he weighed in at 142.
Pac has the advantage because he is a WW now. JMM isn't.
The fact is, JMM has only ever weighed in above 140 once in his career and that time he looked terrible physically. Mainly because he was a blown up light weight. He went straight back down to 135 for a reason.
Against Pac, it will be no different. He will be a blown up Lightweight weighing in as a Welterweight. I don't know why we are chosing to forget JMM has weighed in at 142 before and looked dreadful. That is a fact.
That's all there it to it.

Look at his fight with Shane. Do you remember during the 24/7 countdown when Floyd pissed in a cup and it came out looking like reallly dark tea! That's a sign of dehydration. If he had to dry out to make 147, he sure as hell had to dehydrate himself to make 146 Especially coming back from a long lay off. Floyd put on quite a few lbs in the 24hrs prior to his fight with JMM. I wont say he weighed anywhere near 160, but I personally believe by looking at him that he weighed between 150-153 for that fight.
