Agree, ppl just love KO's and unfortunately that is what is remembered more. I think Benitez was the best fighter out of Puerto Rico.
Similar to how Mexicans think JCC is the greatest Mexican fighter, where he was just the most popular, and Salvador Sanchez was actually the best Mexican fighter.Comment

Also if the video is suppose to impress I can make one of me doing the same thing in my garage for you and im not a pro. Dont want to sound like a hater just saying I looked him up on boxrec expecting 20-0 or suttin but hes just 18.Comment

I don’t understand…no let me correct myself I do understand the P-Rican/Mexican beef. Squash IT! you sound like bumbling idiots.
As for the topic, am not sure where I would rank Gomez. Probably among the top 3 P-Rican of all time. It’s just a matter of opinion, but one can always make an argument for either Ortiz, Gomez, or Trinidad.Comment

WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto says there is no debate on who the best Puerto Rican boxer is of all-time. Cotto views Wilfredo Gomez, a former WBC super bantamweight and featherweight champion, as the best Puerto Rican boxer to ever put on the gloves. Gomez also held the WBA super featherweight title. Recently there had been a debate on the best Puerto Rican fighter of all-time, with Gomez being named among a short list of boxers. The others were Wilfred Benitez, Carlos Ortiz and Felix Trinidad.
