Ofcourse he is goin to use the high guard. But that would totally nullify whatever strength he has over Pac mainly his footwork and reach. Lets also not forget that an orthodox jab does not work on a southpaw so he is not goin to win a fight on jabs alone..Last edited by mikemurni; 04-30-2011, 09:28 PM.Comment

Difference was that Clottey was looking for an opening to attack, which he did do straight after Cotto broke through his guard.... like i said, it's a different story when your afraid to throw against your opponent.
When Pac had Clottey on the ropes, Pac unleashed combinations and Clottey covered up and didn't attempt to throw back, he was too scared he'd get caught.Comment

the southpaw stance would give trouble for floyd. combine w/ hatton's agressiveness & judah's speed and southpaw stance, we might see floyd down and out for the first time in his career.
that's why he's asking ridulous things like USADA testing, LOL!!Comment

I'm not saying Pacquiao can't, I'm saying I can't see him doing it. Bold, yes but again, when Zab ripped Mayweather with a straight left hand, Floyd quickly got on the ropes, Zab then threw a barrage of punches landing not one. Same with Corley, Corley landed a mean counter right hook that hurt Floyd, Floyd backed into the ropes, Corley couldn't land a thing after that. Same with Mosley...You can't picture it in your head because it hasn't happened yet, if guys like, judah, corley, mosley and augustus can land on Floyd then sure thing Manny can. Sometimes people are blinded by an aura a fighter presents, Floyd has the aura of invincibility but then again, so do many undefeated fighters until they lose.... Pac has several weapons in his arsenal that can give Floyd big problems, for anyone to say Pac couldn't finish Floyd off are fooling themselves, it's a hard task sure.... but not impossible.
So I'm not convinced Pacquiao can do the job when he couldn't even penetrate through Clottey's guard. Mayweather's a smart dude, he'll know how to react when things get tough...Comment

clottey was paid NOT to engageClottey operates on a pick-a-boo stance.. The same stance that Abraham and Winky Wright uses... Its a good defensive stance but can be penetrated if the fighter engages. The problem is that Clottey did not want to engage so there was rarely an opening. Thus there was rarely chance for Pac to land a solid combination..Floyd does not fight with that stance..Comment

Compubox isn't that important, but it still useful otherwise it wouldn't be used. Floyd won't land anything on the slick Wapakman. Just because Floyd's total punches land connect percentage in his last eight fights has been as high as 47% and his total power punches land connect percentage has been as high as 50% doesn't mean that his pillow punches will hurt nor hit the great defensive, Wapakman. Wapakman on the other hand has the ability to hit Floyd with multiple off balance and awkward angles combo punches which can and will KO Floyd easily.Pacquiao total punches vs Clottey: 246 out of 1231 [20%] (Missed close to one thousand punches BY HIMSELF against a guy who was not making him miss WOW imagine if Clottey was just a bit elusive].
Clottey total punches vs Pacquiao: 108 out of 399 [27%].
Pacquiao power punches landed: 34%
Clottey power punches landed: 35%Last edited by Carpe Diem; 04-30-2011, 09:33 PM.Comment

That too, and Clottey also knew that Pacquiao's smart enough to know when to let off. He knew when to get out...Difference was that Clottey was looking for an opening to attack, which he did do straight after Cotto broke through his guard.... like i said, it's a different story when your afraid to throw against your opponent.
When Pac had Clottey on the ropes, Pac unleashed combinations and Clottey covered up and didn't attempt to throw back, he was too scared he'd get caught.
I guess we'll agree to disagree on the matter, Clottey did his all to try and block Cotto's punches, but Cotto's heavy hands got through.Comment
