Shane Mosley Floyd Mayweather Jr.: When Will He Get the Respect He Deserves?

its called hyping up fights and generating sales. floyd has always been respectful to his opponents. after he beats their assesalot of people, myself included, used to respect floyd during his pbf days. there was nothing to hate about the kid. now, as he started adopting the "money" persona, he shifted from the previous image and boxing fans kinda started to lose respect for him gradually. it's hard to respect someone who's not willing to respect others in the first place.Comment

JMM was a TUNEUP after 2 years off..He dont get a gram of credit for beating JMM, its bad enough to drag him up to ur weight class but to then blatently come in over the agreed limit? Com'on! Proved nothing.
Mosley? Good performance that showed Floyd had heart and the ability to back a fighter with Shanes strength and power up but its poor in the fact that Mosley was in boxing years well over 300 years old.
Hatton i give Floyd huge credit for, i picked Ricky to win (foolishly) in that one. Hatton was the nightmare opponent for Floyd, he closes the gap quicker than anyone in the game and had a mean dig to the body. Big props ther for PBF, would have been tighter at 140 but cant complain.
Corrales - Great performance again hats off to him there even if Chico was hurting from weight making a bit. Didnt matter Floyd was on another level.
Castillo - Again Full credit, but it showed he is onbly human, JCC pushed him.
Zab - Was always gonna be tight for Floyd until his mental stregth and composure took over. Full credit
At least Floyd didn't fight Alphoso Gomez or Micheal Jennings...

can't always have it both ways like tyson did. either you play the "bad guy" and generate sales while drawing hate, or not play it at all and not get hated. he made his choice, so we can't complain about him not getting the respect he deserves when he doesn't want to give respect back (scripted or otherwise).
while i do agree that he just did those to generate sales and hype up fights at first, i believe he got swallowed up by that persona and later in his career he couldn't do anything but stick to it, even during retirement, until it finally took control of his life, making him do things he wouldn't have done before (related to boxing or not).Comment

Floyd was a ****in beast. It wasn't until he went after Baldo that he was going for big money/easy fights. But man, his rise to the top was undeniably great and people shouldn't forget that about Floyd.
But how can he get respect now with what he's doing? Way past prime DLH? A much smaller and less skilled Hatton? A man two divisions lower in Marquez (not to mention he didn't even honor the catchweight)? An old ass Mosley who was inactive for 1 year and 3 months? Of course he's not gonna get the respect he thinks he deserves.
But ya know who else is doing the exact same thing as Floyd? MANNY PACQUIAO. So yeah, can't really blame Floyd.Comment

Everyone knows that Floyd is a HOF and ATG. Its just that his fans go ****ing insane sometimes and overhype some of his wins. he gets respect, even though its annoying as hell that hes playing around like he is.
Mosley and DLH were both old. thats a fact. I still give him credit for the wins, but no way in hell can you pretend that they = a win over prime DLH or Mosley...
and Marquez had no business whatsoever at 147. he looked like ****.
Mayweather's wins over Hernandez, Corrales and Castillo are all easily better wins than all three of the above mentioned.Comment

i think it's too late. if he keeps stalling this fight there is the excuse of pac's fighting too many battles before the fight happens. you know the drill around here. fighting washed-up fighters are discredited. don't really know what floyd is waiting for to a fight he himself says an easy fight, easy money.Comment
