He better stick to MMA where you need no skills just choking and a haye maker

I hear you, but still flat-footedness cant be a good thing in any combat sport can it?

I mean we are talking about movement, balance and timing--offense and defense....

MMa gloves are probably closer to 5 oz. On top of that, the extra weight is simply aruond the wrist and top of the hand for further protection. The actuall knuckle area, esp on the reyes glove...I can't see it being any less padded. In Fact a reyes glove might hurt even more.

MMA and boxing are two different sports and you need different stances for each one for defensive and offensive purposes.

Saying that, I think Nick Diaz is a good fighter and most here talking **** would get KO'd by him in a boxing sparring match. He just has a certain style that I don't think would win many fights in boxing but would make for exciting brawls.

actually lately ive been watching cards in 2x fast forward cause the majority i just find straight out boring. and i say this as a guy who used to follow the sport quite closely before. i actually credit ufc for getting me into boxing hardcore about 4-5 yrs ago. but it hasnt been on a great run of late imo. even this seasons tuf is just plain not watchable

ive thought the same thing ... but get shot down for mentioning it for the most part. ya our gloves at 147 below are 8oz but thats distributed throught the whole glove not just in the knuckle area. i think the difference really is lack of defense and the fact that these guys are throwing haymakers more then glove size weight

one of my biggest reasons in him likely not being effective in boxing is total lack of speed ...

                Awful footwork. Piss-poor hand-speed. Zero-skill.

I wish Pride was still alive.....

Yellow Cards kept Fighters from stalling (10% purse deduction).... they need that in Boxing as well

take away elbows..... Heck keep knees and kicks to the head of a grounded opponent but elbows slow the paste of the fight and allow wrestlers to dominate.....

The judge the fight as a whole instead of using the crappy 10 point must system....
