i'd really like to see diaz make something of himself in boxing, for one it would prove that boxing is where the real attention and money is at, and it would also prove that there is a REAL fighter out there who can hang in either sport, which the two sports are apples and oranges when compared, so it would be awesome to see diaz or someone else pull off some quality boxing and win.

now the fact of the matter is, diaz is at a massive disadvantage. it's not the same as mma, ju jitsu, judo, or wrestling, and although, those are tough as hell sports, knowing how to stall and catch your breath in those sports are done, not fairly easily, but manageable because they're allowed to tie up and hold, and once one gets someone in a position for them to hold effectively, they get a chance to recover, which is what you do in mma, because they waive fights off if you get hurt or dropped, there is no count to allow recovery.

not in boxing, if hurt you get 10 seconds at best unless some sort of time out immediately, then you have to defend yourself again, and as we all know it's tough to defend when hurt. not the same in mma though, guys can grapple, wrestle, tie up, and although it is tough and physically tough to do so, you get a longer chance at recovering and recuperating, clearing the cob webs if you will. not in boxing when you keep getting hit.

diaz is known for getting hit, dropped, and then tying guys up, that luxury isnt available to him in boxing.

diaz gets cut too easy as well.....

diaz has no head movement, and is stationary after throwing a punch, any real counter puncher would put him on his seat..... especially with that pawing, slow retracting jab.

he's used to throwing with those mma gloves, which is about a pound less or more in weight, makign him slower than he is normally used to inside the ring, yeah he might train with those gloves, but training and fighting is completely different..... anyone who has sparred before knows that.

he's never faced a real combination puncher in boxing, the guys in mma who use boxing more don't put together too many combination, in boxing, it's a whole other world when it comes to that stuff. gomi was the closets to a boxer that he's fought, that was a legit puncher who would use combo's and those were from a guy that was a baseball player not a life long boxer.....

look, diaz is a extreme talent, he's got the goods you want in a FIGHTER, i would love for nothing more than to see a BO JACKSON in the fight world, it would be AWESOME...... and a new breed of fighter, i just think that this late in the game, the transition is a novel one more than a realistic one, for diaz.

also, if he were really serious and not just trying to bank on the buck because he's getting paid peanuts in mma for what he does, i think that he should take it somewhat slowly and build it up a bit and not try and go in straight to the top.

although, that is what mma does to boxers, throw them in against top opposition and then say mma is better than boxing, but none dare to cross over the other way, and REAL BOXING FANS WANT IT TO BE FAIR FOR WHEN THE MMA GUYS COME OVER because we know the difference in skill and talent pools.

see, mma guys fear getting knocked out by a professional boxer, thats why they will legitimize a boxer fighting in mma for the first time and put them in against a mma legend.......... when it's not really fair, a boxer who has never wrestled is going to end up on his back EVERY TIME.

none of them dare to step to boxing and the fact that diaz is serious about it and is talking and taking it serious, i have more respect for diaz, even with all his disadvantages, i support him, i just think he should build it up instead of trying to bank on a freak show type fight with a named fighter, and i mean freak show because it's not a traditional set up leading to this fight, it's two different sporting elements fighting under a certain aspect of fighting, ie, boxing..........

the fluidity of a life long boxer, i think, will always trump a part time boxer skills, just from experience and muscle memory alone.

diaz has looked good using his boxing against guys who can't, don't, and aren't boxers. its going to be a completely different experience for him against a real live BOXER.

i DO think that diaz CAN beat a good number of boxers out there though, with his mental toughness and fortitude alone, i think he has more heart and determination than a lot of boxers who have more talent then him, only thing is, i see everyone who would be set to fight diaz, raise to the occasion and train their ass off to fight him, treating it like the fight of their life, because they don't want to lose or get our worked by a part timer.....

i'm cheering on diaz, but i know and am realistic about the situation, if he were to become the Bo Jackson of fighting i would be stoked, it would mean a knew breed of fighter has evolved and to me that is exciting......... it means a whole new aspect of fighting will emerge, a whole new paradigm! that would be sweet.......

lets be real though, it's a uphill battle on a oil slick for diaz, in and out of the ring, because you know all the crabs in the bucket, boxing and mma crab, will pull him back down, just to satisfy their status quo!..........
        best of luck to diaz.............

Just shut up dude, just shut up. KJ noons looked much better in sparring with henry and proved to have superior hands against Diaz (unfortunately, terrible leg kick defense) and still was busted up by Omar. That is enough said.

Omar is defunct Boxer who was only a front runner anyway and is now going into MMA.

Diaz is a 170lbs fighter trying to call out 154lbs fighters. In fact.. Omar is a 154 lbs'er himself.

I could care less what he is training for, how he looked in round 12 or 20. The fact is, he is terrible from a boxing POV and his style wouldn't translate well at all.

Hes a great MMA fighter but he wants boxing size money. Dont think its going to happen for him though. Props for at least giving it a legit try and be willing to face a known name right off the bat.

Wow you should try to get that published. Judging from that video I know 10 novices that could pound him into submission.
